Event Vendor(s) - For Holiday & event tokens/etc.

Post#1 » Mon Apr 22, 2019 10:21 pm

Hello People and Devs and other whatever overlords.

Suggestion:

Implementing a Holiday - Event Vendor:
So for repeated yearly/holidayish events, say like this recent Easter Event.

We had some people say, maybe over-collecting some eggs here or there lol.

But maybe this also hurt other players who wanted to participate without having to search as hard for them/etc.

ie; a handful of players collecting a majority of the eggs in search of one rare item. (but they have like 15 of the same item, that other player's might have enjoyed the chance of stumbling upon).

So my suggestion is really this.
For holiday events and other collection or kill type events of potential mass scales;
Implementing a Token System alongside the normal whatever chances to drop.

(collecting 300 eggs=300 tokens;
300 tokens = aegis/etc. ) just for an example.
300 tokens could also be traded in towards other holiday items or events via transfer. if there are other collection type events or kill quest(s).? {{ie; say you over participated in a christmas event, but you know that's come and gone, but now you have xyz of tokens that are useless-unless the vendor stays open;, maybe allow these to be converted to the next upcoming events currency for a handicapped return? }}

Then a controversial suggestion ontop of that;
maybe allowing the tokens to be converted to a trade-able Mini-Token, but again at a handicapped cost.
(so trading in 100 tokens only = 30 tokens) - this would discourage people from 'over-particpating' , and discourage people from buying probably such highly inflated items - and go out and get them themselves. )
(and also, maybe set the mini token/currency - being unable to buy the Very Rare items/etc. So they would be forced to participate for the Non-Mini tokens, to get these items, instead of just buying their way into them - if they're so rich. / but can buy the misc. 'junk' if they want.)

Oh, and ontop of the mini token suggestion ----- you could mail these to your alts, so that way if you participated in the event on your main character, you could..theoretically collect 300 tokens = trade them for 75-100 tokens; to an alt, and they can unlock some of the misc stuff. If they wanted.

(since there's going to be a pretty big guarantee that we can't have account-bound-mail most likely- or account bound items that are mailable to alts only)

There hasn't been an event previously and there probably won't be another where there's a limited number of objects scattered for a limited time. Most, if not all events previously have had clear cut quests and transparent rewards and chances for all to participate. But this was a one-off Easter egg hunt on Easter and I wouldn't have changed anything if I were to have done it again. Not to say I don't appreciate your feedback, as events and this server in general exist to provide you, the player, an enjoyable experience, I just prefer a little bit of mystery in my events and want people to work together to find the rewards and decide then if you want to put any time into it it just play through it as if it's not being ran at all.

Nah I liked it, it was cool. I haven't been consistently playing till this year, so wasn't sure if events like this took place often, thanks Norka!
