IB, BG, Chosen & SM already get enough parry from GWM/abilities/tactics/RR alone, so it is much better to stack strength/wounds/armor/some ini.
Even BO and KOBS, with their relatively lower parry values (excluding Runefang), would benefit more from stacking the above stats, given that they have access to some defensive CDs/morales (You Wot + da toughest + bubble, Vigilance, Guardian of Light, Emperor's Champion).
Should I stack my tank with weaponskill talismans or not?

Re: Should I stack my tank with weaponskill talismans or not?
Big news for parry adepts : according to log, I parry guard damage 38% of the time, from a paperdoll saying I'm at 41% parry (I'm excluding guard block from those stats).
Accounting buffs/debuffs during those paly sessions, this value seems accurate and greatly reflecting paperdoll value of parry against guard.
So idk from where is coming the 25% max cap for guard parry, but sorry it seems not accurate, and looks like that type of attack actually use paperdoll stat.
And Natherul clearly said yesterday that getstat does not show real stats, and WS is still being accounted for parry, as paperdoll shows.
Nevertheless, as said earlier high parry is easy to reach for most of tanks with rr, tactics and gear ; for talisman use, better stack wounds first (aim for a base 10k hp), then armor (aim for 4k).
For example, in a mixed build on a KotBS (BL-Vanq in my case), with runefang and Champion of Light morale at the same time, you got capped in nearly all stats (Str, Tough, HP, and close of cap for WS).

He said parry from WS is capped at 25 %, not that parry itself is capped.

You want to be at at least 4500 armor as a tank to take into account regular+stacking morale armor debuff, preferably at 5000 armor for opponents WS, and it will still be worth it as opposed to other stats.Stortz wrote: Thu Mar 28, 2019 12:50 pmalright, got it. It does matter, but it passes a str check vs the opponent.DanielWinner wrote: Thu Mar 28, 2019 8:06 amIt’s not worth stacking. There are much better defensive stats.DanielWinner wrote: Wed Mar 27, 2019 4:22 pm
TLDR version: you always have 25% parry against Guard. And this is the cap: you can’t get more. For Player VS Player encounter:
Your ws / Enemy's str * 7.5 = Parry (cap is 25%) is the r40 formula.
So if your opponent has 1000 strength, your 1000 weapon skill only provides 7.5% parry.
wounds seem like the answerzgolec wrote: Thu Mar 28, 2019 8:10 am Armor [120+] or Wounds [22+] are waaaaay better to stack on tanks. With reflexes from rr and skills / tactics that booosts parry you can easily get 60+ '% parry and thats is enough. Id rather have extra 1000hp or armor then few % parry on this level.
armor seems like a giant waste for people who have reached the cap
most the damage tanks receive is from frontline bombing, and mdps all have armor ignore moves they can pull on you. Either way, if they're attacking you and not your healers you're doing something right.
Armor talismans are IMO absolutely useless at the cap.

Re: Should I stack my tank with weaponskill talismans or not?
Yes but a decent mdps will use it's armor ignoring attacks vs a tank or, if they're really good, completely ignore the tank, as they should not be hitting him.Tankbeardz wrote: Thu Mar 28, 2019 12:54 pmThis is not completely true because of armor debuffs....But sets like ruin / red eye probably cover most of what you need.

4280 is already overkill IMOUgle wrote: Thu Mar 28, 2019 4:25 pm

You're trying to survive an AoE door bombing, not getting the pesky witch elf/hunter off your back

Thanks everyone for your answers, I'll be stacking armor + wounds from now on
Re: Should I stack my tank with weaponskill talismans or not?
In my experience you do want a little Weapon Skill on 2H Chosen, not necessarily for the parry that you get for it, but rather for extra armor penetration it provides.
Personally I go for around 300-350 WS - that gives you around 20-25% armor penetration and can be buffed with Daemonclaw up to around 35%. That amount of WS can be achieved via a single talisman or with 1-4 renown points. More than that is really a waste as you get more bang for your buck with Wounds, Strength, Armor or Toughness.
Your mileage may vary on other tank classes or by playing SnB.
