I don't get how can you even argue as to not do the gold wipe - like do you guys really care?

Threatening to leave the server over some gold? Sometimes in life you gotta suck it up, be the better/smarter one and go with the rest - I am pretty sure you realize how the exploit **** with the server, both new and old players but being selfish about it and saying "you farmed it so don't touch it or I leave" is childish. Be fair about it.

Gold reset will make some people quit, new people will come, new rich people will be there, new whine will be there because there will be always "richer and exploita", next wipe will come, repeat. The pain never ends.

There is no price to pay for me or any person who has legit farmed anything. You created anty- cheating/exploiting policy already, so stick with it. Ban ppl who had exploited gold and don't punish whole community. Or take easy way, wipe gold and call legit players fools further, results in ppl quitting this project will be more hardcore than lags occured last weeks.
Anyway inflation imo is not only happening because gold exploit, its just simple fact that best items like +12 jewels, lair weapons are desired for everyone its logic to expect that they will be most expensive. Ppl can still buy gale runners for 1/2 gold for piece. All this drama with inflation is just caused by ppl desiring best gear but beeing to lazy to farm/get it.

As OldPlayer has outlined, I speak in a personal capacity unless otherwise noted.

There are a few points you don't seem to understand, and they are quite simple concepts:

If we knew who had exploited gold, we would ban them.

If we could fix the economy without resorting to a gold wipe, we would.

I said in my first post in this topic that I will not tolerate the devs being blamed for taking whatever action is necessary to resolve a situation, and I'll make this clear once more, that was created by exploiters. If we can't target the exploiters directly at the present time, and we can't, then we have to resort to other steps to fix the economy.

Any legitimate farmers have already lost their gold, because the exploit has caused inflation, wiping out the value of the gold they've amassed. The more recently wealthy, therefore, have more gold because items are selling for more, and that is because of inflation. It is not to these people that I am referring. It is to anyone who actually sat and ground for more gold than they could possibly need, knowing the risks of supplying themselves with any kind of mass resource in an alpha project.

Your argument against inflation is equally poor - in the server's past, highly valuable items didn't sell for inflated prices because there was no way for players to get that amount of gold - it has to come from somewhere, and that's from raw farming. There's no way to get around that. If items are suddenly selling for prices that would be considered absolutely incredible just a month or two before, as 900g is to 50g, then it's inflation caused by exploiting and there is simply no way to avoid that truth.

The project does not, and never has, guaranteed any standards of service to anyone, you play it for free. It's fundamentally an alpha which is going to have issues. That needs to be borne squarely in mind, especially if anyone is going to sit there and devote literally weeks to farming gold.

I would say your a fool but only because im blunt to the point, you should expect there to be bugs in an ALPHA state some of which may indeed affect the economy and for ppl to gain mass amounts of gold, understanding this would save you the pain some feel now when a gold wipe is being spoken about and rightly justified.
Inflation is only happening because of gold exploits, u really think at 90 brass a mob kill ppl would be able to afford 200+ gold for a single item ? its the mass amount of gold gained by bugs or exploits that makes them so pricy.
Its not about being lazy to farm or get it, its more of what is the point.

and so you dont need bq or lair gear you say but when ordo can afford their's better so that they can have a gear advantage?

you dont need to farm if quest work right then all you need are the rvr kill quests to get money

if your going to whine and leave if gold gets wiped fine, its happened once before and the server didnt die and the community will go on with or without you
