Launcher Login Error

Post#1 » Sun Apr 05, 2015 2:10 am

Hey all. Downloaded the game via a torrent. Got the latest launcher from the links provided on this site. When I click connect, I get the following error message:

Error starting: System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'D:\Warhammer Online - Age of Reckoning\WAR.exe' is denied.
at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath)
at System.IO.FileStream.Init(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, Int32 rights, Boolean useRights, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, FileOptions options, SECURITY_ATTRIBUTES secAttrs, String msgPath, Boolean bFromProxy, Boolean useLongPath)
at System.IO.FileStream..ctor(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, FileOptions options, String msgPath, Boolean bFromProxy)
at System.IO.FileStream..ctor(String path, FileMode mode)
at RoRLauncher.Client.patchExe()
at RoRLauncher.Client.Handle(PacketIn packet)

I have taken and ensured the following steps:

1. Launcher and WAR exe's are set for Administrator mode
2. Made the WAR folders and all contents full access mode
3. Restarted both launcher and computer

Ultimately I end up at the same error. Also after the error, I cannot try to connect again unless I close the launcher and reopen it.

Looking for some help. Thanks!

Make sure the torrent application isn't running, or has access to the directory.

Double check that read only is disabled on the entire game folder.

It seems to have been the Read Only check box...surprised I didnt catch that. Game has opened up, will let you all know if I have any other issues. Thanks for the quick response!
