It's not that hard a concept to figure out: you play your game, you showcase your playing to people online for their benefit and entertainment, and if you are super successful with the kids then you might even start to bring in monies!

It's the perfect career to have, if you ask me... :D
I guess I just don't get a lot of enjoyment out of watching other people play videogames, but in games outside if RoR a wayward streamer has absolutely spelled our doom. Streaming EVE Online without a delay, for example, is like begging for a gank. I think the general concensus oughtta be that streamers do their thing in a way that doesn't give the enemy a distinct advantage. Like I said too, don't record voices without getting permission from the people in your voice chat either.

Iirc most streamers dont include voice chat because devs can/will ban them for what is said on stream.

Viewership of RoR streams is so low i doubt this is in anyway an issue.

I was always under the impression that streaming Warhammer Online was against TwitchTV rules because its a private server but I must be wrong because I've seen a few doing it recently

viewership is actually quite high for an old mmorpg hosted on a private server.
think I peaked at 40 simultaneous viewers.
zarbix has regulary 80 viewers+, put that in to context to actual players it isn't anywhere near bad.

ofc if you want reach 10k viewers +, ror may not be the best.

I think twitch has other issues to keep an eye on.
also I think with the rule it's more aimed for servers like WoW freeshards etc.

on topic:
streaming with delay sucks to be fair, you have major impairment to react to viewership etc and so on.
I rather don't stream. :S

Streaming is a boom for most games as its essentially free ads for the game.

That said I dont think any kind of ban of streaming or delay is enforceable or even warranted. Sure it sucks if you get streamsniped.
