And we need arena sc for sure - 1vs1, 2vs2. Reduced time of sc and reduced reward.
Great idea! Just need to reduce the rewards to 0.
Arenas got chance to become popular even with zero reward.
I would for sure do that whether it had an award or not. Duos would be awesome.
Brynnoth Goldenbeard (40/80) (IB) -- Rundin Fireheart (40/50) (RP) -- Ungrinn (40/40) (Engi)-- Bramm Bloodaxe (40/83) (Slayer) and a few Empire characters here or there, maybe even an elf.

Whines just are another part of the game. Devs may mark arenas as a hardcore mode and ignore everything about it.

Do you realie I actually think that this can exist as no reward contest between people who like something smaller than 6v6 SC? I just dont think it should be rewarded in any way.
Thats fair enough, i mean the forums and ingame are full of players who make dumb suggestions, rant about x not working, some class being op while the class they play sucks, being outnumbered sucks etc etc, it never ends but you have a colored forum name whether u type with bold red, purple, green, gold or white and whether its actually your personal opinion or that of the team what you say reflects on the whole team and the whole server.
Nobody is perfect but you need to set the right example to show the server in the best possible way.

The server has suffered greatly the past year and all because of staff attitudes and unwillingness to listen to experience unbiased players, this was promised to change by yaliskah after the Q&A bs.
All it takes is for some sarcastic belittling comments from staff and then to slowly escalate to the point it was when things were toxic as ****, lets not go back to the way things were and lose even more players.

I have been here since day 1, put more time into playing then most, spent countless hours testing, reporting things and genuinely trying to help as have many others who are just players, i didnt do this because i want credit and im sure others didnt, we done it to help so when i speak out it isnt because im looking to start trouble as some staff who dislike me may think its because i care, i just wish you guys cared as much about the servers reputation and the players because it certainly doesnt seem like it despite the time you may put into the project.

You still seem to lack leadership and still refuse to involve the community with balance and RvR, not only will it help but it will also allow you to take less stick if things go wrong.

I agree completely with Morf's post. Since coming back to the server, most of my questions to the devs or any comments I've made have been replied to with standoffish responses, or sarcastic toned remarks. I've been reading through the forums and all I've found are more standoffish responses and sarcastic remarks that almost feel like you're attacking the players trying to offer their view on the situation. I want this server to succeed, I love this game, and have loved this game for a long time.

I appreciate the work all the devs do on this game, and I appreciate the fact that it's done for free out of your guys' time and money. Believe me, I understand that. You love the game and want to run it with your vision. But we, the players, also love the game, and want to help you reach that vision of a game that is truly enjoyable. If you respond to true, unbiased suggestions with sarcasm, snark, and bad attitude, it's just going to drive people away, and make them not want to suggest anything. Not want to report bugs. Not want to give their opinion on the game, and they'll just end up quitting.

There is a way to respond to CONSTRUCTIVE criticism (non constructive criticism being those who whine about OP this, OP that, yet give no actual suggestions to fix said issue.) without making the people who made the post feel attacked and as if their opinion doesn't matter at all.

I want to see the server thrive. I want to see everyone having fun. I want to see the Devs having fun, and their vision of this game come true.

if you really appreciate their works and understand it, you wouldn't leave such post.

they're exposed to constant demands and baseless accusations.
on forum and in game for several years.

imagine that you cleaned your own house then babies came in and **** everywhere. reasonable conversations are impossible cuz most of them always cry.
after some time, new guy came in and said owners should fix their attitude cuz valuable guests are here.
what would you say to him if you're owner?

Don't forget the history of this server and his forum, the staff post some times ago what is going on to this server, they say to us something like this is their own server and they choose to develop the game in the form that they desired.
So here all is clear, we are playing a new game.
We have to wait it take the form of the staff trying to give it.
Sad for the PvP killer today but who know ?
Our only tool as players and testers is to give feedbacks and suggestions as Original Poster do and wait for a response or no.
Probably they will look in consideration your feedback and suggestions, probably they will not read it ever or they keep it on side to use it a future day... Who know ?

Please, stick to the original post: give us your constructive feedback about Malus effect and current RvR.

Thank you.

I agree with Volgograd's post
Spoiler:
Morf isn't wrong though, a lot of people have felt the burn from Dev feed back. It makes me feel like a pile of poopoo, when I want to understand something better, and get a snarky or degrading response.

Like everyone knows whats going on with the server except the poor souls asking legit questions. It's not really easy to forget the drama that occurred on the server not to long ago, promises were made, but it certainly doesn't feel like they have been kept.

Reasonable concerns have been raised here, and I see no response from anyone that can actually do anything about it. Which makes me feel like a nuisance when I want to bring concerns to the table, or bug reports, or any sort of contribution for this game.

Wheres the transparency?

Any negative post is treated as a whine thread from whiners who just don't get it, cause they are so busy whining.

WAR used to be home for everyone who enjoyed pvp game play.

I have seen more and more bold posts, stomping on the line of what used to be acceptable. It's not that these people feel immune to punishment, they are likely still nervous and uncomfortable just like me right now. It's just that they have nothing to lose anymore.

It's not a fading of nostalgia, it's a fading of the fundamentals that made this game so much fun to begin with.
Edited it for you since you intentionally or unintentionally ignored previous post.
So, elaborate your point about agreement please.

Will do Daniel. Apologies.
As for the current stale of Malus and AAO, as a returning player who absolutely LOVES RvR and PvP.... I don't enjoy the idea of not getting exp or renown rank from kills on a character I really enjoy playing, just because we outnumber the enemy. Yes, it encourages people to cross-ream (which is not a bad thing, at all. I have multiple characters on either realm, and enjoy many of them immensely.). But there are those who don't enjoy having multiple characters, or who just plain don't want to play the other faction. I know I prefer Order over Destro, quite heavily in fact. I enjoy my Order characters quite a bit more than my Destro, but I have to say that it does become quite boring to just follow the Zerg WB around and just cap the points that the enemy are not at. I don't want to avoid enemy warbands because they give next to no reward. I don't want to run around a zone for 40 or so minutes capping points and holding them just to go attack a door for another few minutes, then push forward to attack a keep lord for another 10 minutes. I'm not in the ORvR lake to attack a door, or a PvE mob. I want to fight people. I think the idea of a flag is a good idea, and there have been many ideas in here that are also good ideas and should be considered and discussed, and there are more experienced and knowledgeable people than myself that can fine tune the ideas.

I can only offer my 2 cents to this, and I have to say that I dislike the Malus effect, and it has driven me to not want to do ORvR on the characters I enjoy to play the most.
