Funny thing, my healer was the most fun to level up because I just stuck with people within the level range (It still existed back then) and I leeched the **** outta that XP and healed them and it was a great tradeoff, now I have no incentive to play my other healers or make new ones because there's barely anyone in level range to make it worthwhile, and im not really into grinding the same 2 or 3 scenarios or RvR lakes because there is no guaranteed XP there, as there might be if a couple of us got together and slammed PQ's or farmed mats in the wilderness together, PvP stress free.

I'm honestly just looking for some sort of incentive to play with my friends in a group. Sure, we kill the mobs faster, but it takes the same amount of time to earn experience as it would solo. If we're killing things twice as fast, but only getting half the experience... There's LITERALLY no point to it.

I thought devs wanted to encourage people to group up and play with friends. Cutting your xp in half WHILE grouped up makes no sense and can hardly encourage anyone, that's just how it is. Sure you kill thongs faster, but it's not lightning speed fast. Maybe if you had a healer and an aoe dps, but even the it's not like you get 5 lvls with one pull.

Pretty sure you guys are intentionally missing the point. If you want grind the same 5 mobs to level 40, you're gonna have a hard time. If you group up, quests get a lot easier and you can blow through them pretty quick. Stop trying to pound the table to get something that isn't going to happen. It's getting old.

War, When was the last time you made a new character and tried leveling it up in a group? I don't mean that to be snarky, I genuinely mean when was the last time you 1-40'd a new character with friends?

Usually you do pvp with friends.
When you want to grind mobs, get an aoe dd, a tank and healer and make mass pulls.
A single DD might kill faster solo but not all archetypes have the same options. Being in a group helps classes with low dps.
Dying is no option.

Right, and you need someone almost the same level as you to even share XP, and at that point, you're only getting it at a reduced rate from solo, granted at a slightly increased speed, so there's really no benefit to doing it at all.

Look, leveling up in PvE is a chore, and I could have churned out new guildies ready for T4, but I can't do anything for them besides grind PQ's with them to speed up their gear accumulation, which once again is not a great benefit if they aren't leveled up enough to use it (and the leveling will only occur when they're out doing solo or similar-leveled groups)

Just my opinion on the matter and Im not alone in thinking this. Some of us don't have the time or attention spans to dedicate to that kind of grind and those of us personally don't see any detriment to the server's growth or quality by allowing people to level up others, so long as they aren't multiboxing or just AFK farming groups of mules.

I'm not even looking to level others up, I'm just looking to do Public Quests with my friends who are anywhere between 1-5 levels of myself, in between Scenario Queues, or during the dead hours of RvR. We like to farm PQ's for the influence in the areas, and get those rewards, and to farm the loot from loot bags. I'm honestly just not seeing the point to splitting the exp so harshly when people aren't the exact same level, and in a group, I can understand no powerlevelling, I'm fine with that. I can understand that you want to drive people towards Realm vs. Realm, and again I'm fine and ALL for that. But when RvR is running slow, or completely one sided... I prefer to kind of zone out and chat with friends while grinding PQ's for loot and experience. The fact that it takes the same amount of time to get the same amount of XP, regardless of how many people are in the group or if I'm solo, just doesn't make much sense to me.

Hell. Disregarding playing with friends, it doesn't promote playing with others much at ALL. Because if you split your exp in half, as I said, it's no quicker than if you were levelling solo. It doesn't promote any sort of incentive to group whatsoever during a PvE levelling experience, and even with quests, sure you may get the QUEST done quicker, but then you have to factor in the travel distance, and that you're splitting up exp from any mobs you would kill, it still doesn't justify grouping up at all.
