Client Updates

So I am working on getting RoR installed on my computer after my husband told me how much he's been enjoing the game (I used to play WO and loved it). Used the torrent to download the files and that seems to have gone okay.

As far as the launcher goes - is it normal for the updates to take almost 24 hours or more? I started the updates last night around 10pm or so and it's already 3pm next day and its not even halfway through the number of files it is displaying.

Just curious if I messed something up or if this is normal. I tried looking through the stickies but didn't see an answer, so if I missed one I apologize and hope someone can link me where I need to go.

Thanks so much!

Sounds like you are downloading everything using launcher - this will happen when you run launcher outside the RoR folder.

Okay, that actually makes sense, so thank you. I clicked the launcher where the site told me to, but I ended up getting an error code not long after I made my post.
Tried again, this time opening the launcher from inside my new RoR folder and now it looks more like a normal update. Art, World, etc. Going much more quickly so I'm hopeful I'll be up and running in a couple hours.

Well, the patcher is not optimized for speed, but after initial check future patches will be faster. Glad I could help.
