Broken menu

I log in through the launcher just fine, but when there's no graphics or music on the menu so I can't create a character.

If I click around I can make one of the "ORDER/DESTRO" text boxes flash as if I'd briefly selected a race, but it only works once and doesn't actually do anything.

Also, when I tried logging in earlier while the realm was still offline, I had menu music. Weird that it's gone now.

Edit: I CAN choose something in charcreation, but it seems I can only hit Chaos and Dark Elves, and I can't hit any Careers by blindly clicking on the screen. I doubt it'd help, anyhow.


I am not downloading the god damn client again

First of all, you could show a little appreciation for the developers' time and effort on ressurecting this great game. I'm afraid that expressions like "god damn client" don't help.

Now, my problem is almost identical. I can see all buttons and can connect to the server but as the OP described, screen is black (music and sounds are on however). I managed to create a character by clicking randomly in the black screen, but even then, game crashes every time I try to log in with that character. I'm on Windows 8.1, I've downloaded all windows updates and latest video card drivers and tried the torrent and mega versions of the game. For any other info, just ask. Any help would be appreciated. Generally it does take a few seconds (10-30 seconds) to displays the races and classes.

Any graphical issues that you may have is a result to something effected on client side. Usually extracting the game from the Winrar files/downloading the game will fix this. It's due to an incomplete/corrupt file.

Where I can understand that data usage isn't grown on trees (lol), so using up caps to download a game again is an inconvenience.

Ok, I don't know if you guys did something, but after several tries, my character screen is no longer black. Everything is being displayed properly now.

Also, I did some research here on the tech forums and found this topic about crashing ( http://www.returnofreckoning.com/forum/ ... ?f=4&t=297 ) which got me suspicious, so I created a 2nd character and I was able to log in normaly and play the game. So, I guess my 1st character was bugged, thus the game crashed each time I tried to log in with that char.
