Windows Defender found Trojan:Occamy.b in RoRLauncher

I jsut torrented the game, isntalled DX9 and hit update. Upon hitting update windows defender halted it and said it contained that trojan with a flag of severe.


I did a search on the forums for this and didn't find it. I've let it through for now but it seems like an off false positive.

It is a false positive. Disable and re-torrent and you'll be fine.

I'm confused on how retorrenting will correct it. Torrents pretty much guarantee the files aren't corrupted. And it seems to be an action of that updater code triggering it. malwarebytes finds no issue with it though.

Disabling windows defender let me get past it - ill have to see if reenabling defender on that file works fine with the normal client after that

The files are from my pc and 100% safe. If you find malware somewhere its either false alarm or you got it somewhere else. Its certainly not from us.

win defender doesn't find it in the file and neither does malwayer bytes. but when i had to hit "update" on the launcher from the torrent you guys linked windows defender blocked it. something about how it was updating. but nothing otherwise

I'm surprised im the only one to run into it. and only for that action

The launcher is self-updating, and the latest version hasn't been seen by Windows enough to flag it as safe. As we all start using it, that will eventually fall off. Provided you got it from our download links, it's safe.

the windows defender do many false alarms, you can use malware antibytes that is very better as the own windows defender, and on the links, are not trojan or something else, how wargrimmir wrote all is safe

Could it be you somehow clicked one of the ads in utorrent or installed some fishy extras when running the install wizard of utorrent?

I just downloaded the torrent and launched the launcher and hit update like Op and I do indeed get the same exact win def flag as OP about the Occamy file.
