After 30 some fights you will know wether speccing in or out of Deft Defender was worth it and depending if you played more matches with the right or wrong choise and will give you better win ratio which is reflected in the renown and emblems gained. If you show up every match with deft defender coz the the opposition meta is ranged they gona switch it around bring something to counter it forcing you to make changes. If you run into that odd group comp not running the top meta and they happen to have a good counter to your comp is part of the meta game aswell. It's usually refered to as a rogue build.peterthepan3 wrote:I fail to see how preventing you from respeccing to better deal with your enemy (hint: this doesn't mean you will be guaranteed to win them; you'll just have better odds) has anything to do with opening more options/changing comps used in the meta. Example: you come up against a ranged group while spec'd into 0 disrupt/max parry, you get beaten, you respec at Altdorf, then you come up against a completely different comp which you are, yet again, not spec'd against, rinse-repeat. Sure, you could ask them for a fight in open - but chances are you won't be able to due to no xrealm chat/the amount of time it takes.
It's just so much simpler and covers more avenues if you are given the option to respec before the fight begins, if you choose to. If you don't wish to, you don't have to - that's the beauty of it.

Tell me one thing: The anywhere trainer was a bug, as mentioned so often, this option should not have existed in the first place. What would you do if this option never even had existed?Telperien wrote:But wont it force every rescpetful 6man groups to run same "balanced" specs and builds to be prepared for everything? Being able to respec before fight opens choices. Now that extra choices are gone.
Well, on the other hand, everyone playing same specs and builds on compepitive will show how good are players, not specs:)
We never respecced before a 6vs6, nonetheless we always tried some new things, played around with specs etc.
The meta and the specs will most likely switch from reactive to active. Fights are always about forcing the enemy into you conditions, not the other way round. This is the way it should be.

good point. but i'd much rather some leeway afforded to all =Ptheoddone wrote: However, for the sake of argument. If Peter can't get his Isha trainer, the WB/keep-funnel guys should not get trainer in keep. Fair and squareOnly respec in Capital cities.

As it should be.Example: you come up against a ranged group while spec'd into 0 disrupt/max parry, you get beaten, you respec at Altdorf, then you come up against a completely different comp which you are, yet again, not spec'd against, rinse-repeat.
This is the same all-encompassing mechanics that everyone has to live by. It's balanced and fair.
Remember, how you spec and comp is a choice you make. You obviously spec high in parry because of those pesky "insert melee class" who you dislike losing to. However, there is still plenty of points left over to take Dodge/Disrupt, you just choose to take STR/CRIT/ETC. for maximum damage. Again, a choice you made that comes with the consequence of being super squishy against RDPS.
Nothing is forcing you to go extreme in one instance rather than another, or even at all. Builds with a better balance are more adaptable to a wider variety of situations and usually don't detract from your main focus as to make you useless. It is okay to take less than 4 ranks of parry or spec for sub-optimal damage. Sub-optimal doesn't mean ineffective.

RVR, whats the reason to reward big pug guilds?

We are much happier to see a few large guilds over a thousand tiny pointless personal bank guilds.gotharg wrote:"GUNBAD :

Yeah, if it concentrates people into fewer guilds it could be a good change and lead to more organized play/guild events. Seems like only a couple guilds ever have enough people online to run a full WB, and most not even two groups.wargrimnir wrote: We are much happier to see a few large guilds over a thousand tiny pointless personal bank guilds.
I get that people want to do their own thing and don't always get along with everyone else, have different goals, speak different languages etc., but when you see something like 4 German-language guilds all recruiting at the same time it starts to seem a little silly. Not to mention all the RP-PVP guilds--I swear to god if I see another new Greenskin-only guild
