Yes. That in particular would pop the gear bubble; the difference would be non-existent ~ people would still get farmed relentlessly; people would jump back on the balance/realm bandwagon to explain their garbage-tier performance.
In the zerg you do not need more than anni/merc anyway as it's just follow the leader and spam aoe

The medallions. I'm not saying I don't like the improvements you made with the changes, but it feels like every time a gamechanging patch like this happens, the side effect is that AFKs get huge benefits. In this case you pretty much introduced AFK conq grind, to go along with the xp/rp.

It's just a fact of life, if it can be abused it will. And handing out up to 20 medallions on lock and medallions just for sitting on BOs overshadows a lot of the good stuff. I'm strongly against rewards being given for next to nothing, and while this patch fixed a lot of stuff, it also introduced a whole new level of something-for-nothing. BiS gear SHOULD be hard to get, bandaids weren't needed with the changes to make it harder to get.
We came to conclusion that conq on BOs is too much so it's on the way out.

The 20 will stay, cose to get it you first need to be in 25% of best zone contributors and 2nd in your own pairing (this is to disperse the zerg a bit). Where is the AFK in this part?

Was not aware of the contribution req, all good in that case, even though I'd personally make it like 5%-10% max.

Why? 25 out of evey hundred players is perfectly fine, especialy if you also have to be in your racial zone.

Let's take the 10 medallions you would get from a non-racial zone as the baseline. Do you think 25% of primetime population plays well enough to get maximum/"extra" rewards from a lock? I mean, it's obviously supposed to be a premium, 25% gives a lot of people that don't actually deserve a premium one at random. The fact that it can increase to 20 should make it even harder to get.

Easy for one of the best players with full bis gear to sneer and judge others as inferior.

Luckily we do not have to suffer from the tyrany of the minority judging what is best.

These things are better done by math and not subjective opinions in worthiness snd 25% is a perfectly acceptable amount

Limiting to the "best" 5% means only people who already have bis gear and play to the highest level get these rewards.

A game that creates a two tier system of the minority best feeding off everyone else had no long-term viability

Played with the flashfire changes for ~3 hours today. Single target not much has changed. I wish the proc was consumed at the end of the cast as opposed to the beginning, but once you get used to running while casting it flows pretty well, maybe even better, than before.
