Re: ORVR Purple bags

I am rather confused how people can even complain about having 10+ purple bags and not getting the one subjugator weapon they need... I wish I even got anything other than a white bag after 40+ white bags. :D
I just have no luck it seems... or I am simply playing wrong to have no contribution, even though I often spend my time in the zone from beginning to end, fighting alongside my wb.

Even so I still prefer this system over the one on live back then.

Conq gear is the issue for me. Been 40 on Varagi since xmas and only have one conq belt from two gold bags (second bag was duplicate).

I have 4 offence genesis pieces, 3 defence and both 2h sub weapons but gold bags are rarer than hen's teeth and conq medals do not seem that common either.

After a solid month grinding rvr for just one conq belt and 220 medals I'm burned out and just leveling alts now with my main for guild runs.

Not expecting full conq a week after 40 but system could do with either tweaks or a better explanation of what we have to do to max contribution.

You gotta maximize the amount of lottery bags to maximize expected gain

-log in, check which side has AAO is about to lose
-play on losing side, do 3-5 kills or assists, do some small contri that is enough to enter the lottery
-leave lake so that the side that is losing possibly has even bigger AAO now, or log off
-wait for the lottery results
-repeat in next zone

Doing this for a month or so, you can minmax the game by doing bare minimum "lottery entry fees" of 3-5 kills per zone, then going away and waiting until next zone lottery starts. The main important thing is to play on losing side, as winners (who usually face enemies that are losing and have AAO) have decreased/worse "victory bags". Just keep rolling, you can expect tons of white bags, business as usual, with enough of daily "heroic loser" tries you can expect 1-2 gold per month, 3-4 purples, maybe 5-10 blues and 10-15 greens and damn high number of whites.

Aurandilaz nailed it. I have gotten a stupid amount of good bags on multiple characters doing something similar (if I can't play much that day just log every hour or 2 and get enough kills for the zone reward before logging out). Contribution seems to be a very small factor compared to AAO, and spending 4 hours in 1 zone almost always rewards me with a crappier bag than spending 15 minutes in 4 different zone through the day. 99% sure I once got 2 gold and 1 purple bag in 1 night because enemy had 200%-400% AAO the entire night and was steamrolling through zones. Whenever my side loses a big fight and then starts bitching about X-realmers I just laugh, anyone that is actually leaving the outnumbered side at this point is screwing themselves if they care about bags at all. I never actually did the changing sides to chase AAO (even though I have a lot of characters on both sides I tend to play 1 guy for days before switching it up) but I have been tempted to many times since it seems obvious to me this would increase my rewards.

It's impossible to verify since we don't know the numbers or math behind bag rolls, but I am very much under the impression with the way the loot bonuses roll over that even ignoring AAO, rolling on loot more (IE fighting in more zones) gives you better rolls faster than spending hours in a zone trying to increase contribution. It's certainly a lot less draining on your morale since you're gonna have a ton of white either way.

That's what the system is encouraging right now. Most people tends to follow the path of least resistance

The only gold bag i received, i didn't even realize i had it in until a day later. I went into a zone, killed a few people, logged out and the day after i simply found it in my mailbox.
They done stole my character's names. Can't have **** in RoR.

Gear matters. We aren't the ones making the game, just playing it. Since gear makes a big difference, most players want to get better gear. Since it takes months and months to acquire said gear, some players are going to try to figure out ways to get it faster and more efficiently. Not everyone plays for the same reasons, I for one don't enjoy RvR zergs at all and would rather all my pvp take place in a non-zerg format like scenarios, but since I am forced to RvR to get the gear I need for most of my characters I don't feel particularly bad for trying to do it in the least amount of time possible.

If you are frustrated about people playing the system, be happy that he gave you the feedback and always assume that people will play the system if its possible

Are you really surprised? That the same people who play with minmaxed efficient parties, who want best warband composition, and want best gear, and in order to achieve that play in ways to minmax rewards:timespent-ratio, and in order to do so they try to their best figure how the LootBag system works, and once they have tried different approaches have come to a conclusion which includes what I have said above?

You build the maze, we are the hamsters running that maze. Eventually we end up figuring how to do a run through the maze in fastest time possible with least wrong-turns in order to maximize our potential reward for completing said maze.
