Then again i'd rather duel those 2 instead of a KotBS.
Why though, I always assumed that kotbs is the worst order tank when it comes to 1v1/solo roaming.
IB/SM put up a fight, a KotBS wins - if he isn't up against some glass-loldps - solely by attrition; Vigilance, unspecified and target independent detaunt on a tank, much fun in 1v1 paired with the 3,6k M1/selfheal M2 and the regen aura.

Unless you play Mara/SH/WE, you might aswell not bother ~ Tanks/Healer will face an almost endless hugging session, Sorcs/Magus/Choppa will have to get lucky with their rolls or get the drop (preferably with all 'dem pots and morales).

^Assuming all players involved are properly geared and play well.

KotBS don't (solo) roam because its tedious, you don't have the burst to kill (non sub40, non-glass/lolderp) things before the next blob rolls around the corner - may that be your blob or your enemies ones, and can be kited rather easily.

Here 1v1 != roaming encounter, rather in a gladitorial sense (=dueling).

Regarding solo potential and finding fights. Between IB and SM the IB is the clear winner, yet time and time again, due to Destro's current obsession with melee trains, there's alot of tanks (black guard fotm season right now)and armor pen ignoring marauders etc.

Several times I've just wanted to slam my head into my desk while playing IB because being a physical damage dealer its an absolute pain fighting the vast majority of melee destro. Even with 50% armor pen from weapon skill and 850 str buffed as well as the armor reduction, damage is so greatly mitigated its a pain.

Its then I switch over to my SM, absolutely annihilate any high armored target, but then lose the staying power of IB due to no regen, only bubbles. You also seem to be much less capable at killing rdps and healers, the burst isnt there without sacrificing the defences needed to deal with WE attacks.

Its a damn headache deciding which class to focus on for maining :D How do other IBs fair when facing high armored targets, just ignore em? I swear weapon skill armor pen doesnt bloody work, being physical damage is a curse.

Against high armor enemies, just gotta out regen them, unfortunately if 1v1. Thankfully, IB is really good at that. Monstro mara might be tough, but deftard monstro maras dont do enough damage to kill you faster than you kill them in my experience. And theres like maybe one or two on the server who actually play decent monstro mara, most jst stay sav brute when solo and die. super quickly when focused.

Fighting other tanks solo just takes forever so I avoid it. Black Orcs are relatively easy, but BG and Chosen just last forever so its not even worth it IMO.

I think IB is way more fun than SM and pretty sure they are gonna remove SM triple/double spirit debuff anyways, so might as well play the REAL order dps tank before the fotm shifts back to ib/kotbs+wh/sl, like on live :D

On my SM I tend to avoid HB I find Natures much more useful as it procs PE more as well as the the ini debuff increases crit a lot. It's just a shame as IB even with massive WS armour pen and str you're locked out from killing armoured targets in any meaningful time regardless :/.

Aye but I feel like SM is the only tank that can kill high armor targets quickly anyways, and thats assuming said target doesnt have decent regen. I imagine a good regen BG would be extremely frustrating to fight, spirit damage or no spirit damage.

So I guess it comes down to what targets you seek out while soloing. IB has an easier time against everyone but high armor tanks IMO. Even if there was an armor stacking choppa or mara, I feel like deftard mara can out regen SM anyways and the fight will be super long no matter what. If I ever find a choppa that doesnt die in less tha 10 seconds solo, I will let you know :p

SM also wears a dress and lacks an awesome beard, and seeing as Fashionhammer is the true endgame, the choice is clear.
