Can't remake character?

If you really need the name right now just do the typical MMO naming convention and add some XXX's to it.

My name matters to me, and this kind of thing bothers me. I'll just wait. Hopefully it doesn't take too long, and maybe someday this kind of thing won't be an issue?

That maybe so but this was also a thing back on "live". Names required a server restart to free the previous character name from "cache".

When the server restarts, it will be available to you. Just wait.

You can pick different name and rename to your desired once you are level 40/40 if it's so urgent for you

You can rename you character at max level? I ask because I'm trying different classes right now and once I stick with one I'd like to slap my name (Breidr) on it. I thought I would have to reroll.

So why can't I use the name then?

And no, it wasn't this name. I already have it on another char that I will eventually try and remake, but may not even bother now since apparently this doesn't work properly? Technically no one should have known what the name was and tried to take it? (Assuming I'm not the only one that cares about this sort of thing?)

I don't know what you're getting at, but you're either not providing the whole picture or not actually checked yourself if the name is in use. Either by this "character" you have reserved with it.

This has always been a thing and the fact you're the first one having such an "issue" with it, clearly means it's you and not "us".

After a character is deleted, the name remains in server memory until the server restarts and flushes its memory cache. Then the name is available to use again. Many people have had no problem with this in the past, so I can't see why it's an issue for you.

What? Are you really accusing me of doing something wrong here? I had a level 4 zealot with the name that I deleted moments before making this thread when I was unable to get it back. Someone here told me to wait until server restart. I did. I'm still not able to get my name back?

I'm not accusing you of anything. Perhaps my bluntness has overpowered the message I was trying to put across.

For the most part, players have had no problem with claiming old names from previous characters, which require a server restart to make them accessible again. So given that it's not worked for you is either rare or something is missing on your end.

We can't control name reservations or management, so there's little we can do. Other than waiting for the server to restart.

There's the option to search names on the armoury on our site, to see if the name is taken, and what class has it. If it shows up empty then it will most likely require another server restart.

Just make sure that no other character has the name before the server restart, and then wait. Once it restarts, the name should be available.
