Looking bad a..

I’d like to propose some small things that would improve how the game feels and are viewd by ppl on the outside.

1. Define and set race colors on all gear (possibly some themes for diff spec trees (should still mix well))
2. Make alt apperance rr40+
3. Make coloring a rr 50+ feature
4. Make all the cool colors 70+
5. Reduce armor models rr 1-40 and limit them to the simpler looks

Create a ladder of rr = earning the tools to look cool as f....

Why, to all of this? Customization of appearance is fun, why gate it like this?

1. why?
2. that would suck for low lvl chars. whats the benefit of having this feature locked?
3. same as 2.
4. same as 2.
5. what are we gonna do with all the appearances that will get lost then?

6. I still dont see why? :O
the only reasonable thing i could imagine is locking some of the few hundred unused dyes we have behind some bosses/dungeons/hidden quests.

Q: why?

A: Less is more and making ROR RvR more "look a like" Warhammer table top units with somwhat unified colouring /looks and standout heroes imo visually would make the game more attractive for a bigger audience.

Videos /screenies from the game would look better / be more epic etc. For ppl not playing / Warhammer fanatics I think this would create interest.
Spoiler:
No it is not a ninja Racial WBs thread ;)

You really think there's people out there thinking "Man I'd really like to play that Warhammer MMO but every time I look at videos the players just seem like they have too many options when it comes to coloring their armor" ?

I think aesthetics matter more then most acknowledge. Large scale that could be enhanced by making commanders stand out more at the cost of "commons".

Guilds imo could also be exploited to enforce coloring. Other whacky things that could be used is the RR100 size buff on wb leaders.

Warhammer is a known IP with a strong tie to table top units I'd leech it if I were devs.

As you said correctly. Aesthetics matter. Ppl love to play dressup and customizing their stuff to be as special as possible. In fact big parts of the gaming industry only lives because theres things like skins and cosmetic items. Everyone wants to look awesome!

I think most people are far more interested in making their character look like "their character" rather than matching some other rando playing the same class. If you played table top, then surely you saw people who had invested a lot of time into making their armies look unique, with every model (or at least a lot of them) having their own unique appearance.

Plus, it is an RPG and character customization is a big part of that. For me personally, theae changes would absolutely make me less inclined to play simply because I could not make my toons look the way I want.

Dont think the devs will ever implement this, nor should they.

True but you have a real shot at doing something better/unique then the industry with maybe the strongest IP in fantasy there is.

What outsiders see of this game will be the videos.

Never have I ever looked at a game where everyone looks the same and thought "that makes me want to play it."
