New to game with some questions pls

howdy ,

I just started the game the other day .. and so far I like it . I like the WoW feel UI and mechanics.. which most newer games like ESO and BDO which i tried lately feels odd to me plus they tend to be a huge grind fest even once high lvls .. I like paving my way through a game questing and pvp and then use pvp to gear ..once cap lvl .

I rather vendor buy gears from a point system rather then craft them or AH buys , again like old WoW use to be .

Here are some questions i have ..

What type of pvp is in the game is it just RvR .. or is there smaller group events also , like 2s or something ?

Also how would you enter PvP areas etc ? I have seen icons on the world map that looks like a war going on or something .

Is there any Pve dungeons or raids .. I heard its mostly pvp , which is fine by me Because we know in the MMO gaming world there is no shortage of Pve content games ,but i just wanted to know ?

And also getting back to my starter statement , once at high lvl can we gear from pvp alone , and get good gears this way ?

I am impressed by the amount of players I have seen in the world .. which is needed for pvp to happen .. huge thumbs up there :)
But seems the guilds is lacking .. I noticed yesterday there is a guild finder type menu and the most i seen on in a guild was 2-3 and i looked at this a few times through out the day and it was on Saturday which is usually a high player day .

Are most players just entering pvp and events solo or in pug groups ? and not with a guild . I am from NA so i was wondering if that may be a issue if most are from the UK etc and not on when i am , but then again i did see many players ... And even got a invite to a questing group , which i haven't experienced in any games in a long time .

And last is questing the best means of lvling up ? which i do enjoy over just mob grinding .

Guess thats it for now .. Thanks for reading my horrible grammar , and any info would be great .

Welcome mate :)

Pvp is the main focus of this game. That means that you will get your bis gear from pvp (in most cases at least, as there is lair gear as well). The pvp consists of rvr (mass pvp) and scenarios (small scale pvp - 6v6 or 12vs12). In rvr, you can play any style you want. You can join a warband of 24 people, a party of 6 people or anything in between. You can also solo or duo of course, it can be fun with certain classes. The scenarios you can join a ls a 6 man party at most. The smallest number of people in a scenario is 12 (so 6vs6). Sometimes it can happen to be smaller if people crash before joining, or leave the queue.

You enter rvr areas from warcamps. Once you fly to a zone, you will see a redish area on the map. That is an rvr area. The crosses you saw on the map indicate that there is a battle taking place there. The bigger the crosses, the more people are involved. It's not hard to enter rvr, you just take a few steps to get outside of the warcamp, and you're there!

For pve, there is a great amount of public quests that you can do with other people or friends. There are also lairs where you can get some gear. Dungeons are not released yet, but all I can say is soon ;)

I would recommend to join a guild as soon as you can. It will help you meet people that you can fight with together, do quests and so on. You can ask in /5 if anyone is recruiting. The guild window doesn't quite work properly, so don't count on it. There is a big number of great guilds. At low lvls, yes most people are doing things solo. But when you get to lvl 16, you will join everyone else in rvr, meaning you will fight everyone from lvl 16 to lvl 40. Don't be scared though, there is a bolster system that works great, and will help you against high lvl players. I recommend joining warbands at these lower lvls, as soloing won't do much for you.

Imo, lvling by pvp is not the fastest way. Grinding and questing is still the best for you at low lvls, and even when you get to 16. But I would still recommend to play pvp since thus is your first time. Learn your class, play with others and see how the game works, because pvp is what you will be doing the most, no natter what class you play.

As far as population goes, eu has more people than na. Now you can look at that either positively if you enjoy smaller fights, or more negatively if you enjoy larger rvr battles. I can guarantee though, that you will still have a lot of fun if you find a group of players to play with.

Good luck, take your time, and enjoy the game :) Also, never be afraid to ask anything, the community will definitely help you out.

Collateral ,

Thanks for the great Info , I do enjoy smaller pvp then large scale, so the 6vs6 sounds good, and I do like larger pvp at times .. sounds good .

You can get PVP gear from the start pretty much. Warcamp has medal and emblem vendors and you get currency killing folk and winning scenarios/locking zones.

Best way in my experience is to gen up, mount up and follow the road till you hit the warcamp then pvp. I ignore the quests conpletely, except the epic quest chains startibg at T2 (level 16+).

Both sides are friendly type /advice ingame and ask your questions.
