Re: Question about classes(new player)
BO is pretty noob friendly, mechanic is really simply and they can handle any opponent. not as simple as chosen/kotbs but whilst learning to play any tank you can just stack defense and sit pretty in large battles. BO is a great dps assist or main tank and awesome all round melee class
WP backline healer is possibly the easiest class in the game, melee healer not so. really good group heals, great survivability for a healer, just don't let the big hammers fool you into thinking they can ever be a proper dps
WL isn't very noob friendly at all, the pet is finnicky and playing mdps is general a bad idea when you're new, ESPECIALLY as order who are not solo melee friendly at all. you will not receive heals and you will die repeatedly and uninstall
other good noob classes:
ANY rdps - order really stacks ranged classes, you can just pick one and blend into the scenery and you'll be pretty safe. engi is probably the easiest, but they're all pretty simple. destro rdps works similarly. squig herder is often said to be the easiest class to perform well as
ANY destro tank - if you build defensively you can just join the dog pile and you'll be alright. chosen is easiest, BG is hardest (BG uses maybe 4x the abilities of a chosen...) destro has good pub healing so you'll be fine as melee
if you want to play order melee, their tanks aren't that difficult, it's just that you'll have a much harder time playing melee on order than destro
zealot and RP are both really straightforward and powerful healers. shaman and AM have a weird mechanic that i always hated and i wouldn't recommend them to newcomers. DoK is destros WP mirror - they work the same but can do more dps. trying to heal as a low lvl dok is just miserable though
bad noob friendly classes:
mdps
if you must play one, defensive mara is your best bet. choppa and slayer are suicidal, WH and WE are borderline useless (they are NOT the solo stealth hunters you likely first imagined upon seeing them)

Re: Question about classes(new player)
Tazdingo summed it all up very nicely. One more thing to add is that in Scenarios any DPS will feel underwhelming in T4 without proper assisting.

Interesting - can you elaborate on why DoKs are crap at low levels compared to WPs? Or do they suffer from the same low-level weakness?DoK is destros WP mirror - they work the same but can do more dps. trying to heal as a low lvl dok is just miserable though

Re: Question about classes(new player)
I found that the slayer is a fun and easy to learn mdps class. A bit squishy but dying is what a Slayer is all about so fits the lore nicely.

I would not recommend that to any new players, playing slayer/choppa is frustrating for newbiesFallenkezef wrote:I found that the slayer is a fun and easy to learn mdps class. A bit squishy but dying is what a Slayer is all about so fits the lore nicely.

Re: Question about classes(new player)
both suffer, just for a new player zeal/RP would be more intuitive as a healer. no CD on flash, big heal and instant hot. low lvl dok/wp constantly have to use their AP to mechanic point ability and have no spammable flash, which means they can't really respond to anything and to a new player probably wouldn't even feel like healersGehlfein wrote:Interesting - can you elaborate on why DoKs are crap at low levels compared to WPs? Sure it can be "fun" but as always fun is subjective, maybe its because your in the earlier tiers? but as the game progresses especially into T4 where rdps is king; for many people playing slayer and especially choppa feels like masochism and an exercise in frustration for many
they are melee glass cannon that can only really function at its "full potential" with a pocket guard, healer and armor debuff but the "investment" into supporting a slayer/choppa isnt really reflected in the return in performance and in reality you can get as equal if not better performance with other respective faction mdps espically in the latter case with mara on destro.
But since WL dosnt have inc HD slayers are still desired
