Hey all. Just reinstalled after what looks to be a 2 year hiatus. Incredibly glad to be back and amazed with how much more fleshed out the game is from when I first checked out RoR.

Out of curiosity, are there any "Welcome to the game/returning players" guides lying around?

There's the Wiki at the top of the page. That's new, might have some stuff there to get you started.

The guides section is all newer than two years as well.
