I don't know if this can help in your case but I had the same issue for 2 days (invalid username/password even on new account) but after a server restart I reset my password + changed it on my main account and then I tried to login and it miraculously worked.

Just created a new account and it keeps popping up "Authentication Failed" and the clients closes. I can login normally in here. Any ideas please?

Is it possible for me to get an account reactivation? I changed my password a week ago friday, and was waiting until yesterday for the server reset hoping it would be fixed. I have more than a little bit of time into the characters on this account and I would like to have them.

Well I hate to jump on this bandwagon but it's more of the same here.

Did the VPN thing, opened ports, changed my password etc etc etc same old no go.

I distantly recall this being part of what killed WAR the first time out, perhaps.

edit: so here's an "odd" thing. Though I get ejected with an authentication error when my client is trying to contact the server if I deliberately enter the wrong password the patcher catches it. That sounds like it's working like it should.

Good news!

RoR worked!

And I logged out and came back and it worked again!

...but not a third time. Haw Haw. XP

Now we're borked again.

Did a full delete and reinstall etc etc. Using a VPN made no difference.

Interestingly it's once again doing the thing where when "Read Only" is unchecked it resets to "Read Only" when the dialogue option is confirmed and closed.
