I have had the awesome privilege of running with the best clans since this game was in Beta. I was one of the original Beta testers when this game was pre-conceived long before release. I have been part of every tactic that works. BUT, That is the past, today is today...
CNTK is fighting Zergs head on. Its remarkable. They are using terrain in an excellent way. They turtle down behind a high-rising mound or rock and force a vastly superior number of warband mobs to incrementally round corners and get eat up 1 by 1. Mobs will always detract and run if their shallow front pushes and gets eaten up. Such is the nature of mobs and such is the advantage that CNTK hammers.
I applaud any group that fights the Zerg. Yet, the Zerg of this game is good. Any Zerg is better than a weak population.
Kudos to CNTK for taking on the Zerg in such a winning way.
Cheers!
PS... peeps stop whining about the Zerg... Its good, the game has Life!

Re: CNTK Zerg fighting
Watching any of the organized guilds fight the zerg is great. Can be cool even if you're on the zerg
Saw Mete and Giggs and some others kiting destro zerg back and forth in Praag the other night, was pretty hilarious (even thiugh they kept killing my mara).

Re: CNTK Zerg fighting
As mentioned above thanks for the Kind words ,
Order needs to get more WB's together and stop running away , When the likes of Phalanx |TuP push , Pixcels on a screen don't hurt.
Re spec from Improved flee to something more Useful .
play Wb builds that benefit your grp /wb instead of selfish ones ,
The mail Box is safe it does not need your help to stand up . Go take a bo !

Re: CNTK Zerg fighting
Are there WB "endorsed" builds posted somewhere? I would also be interested what the current "no-go's" are when setting up a warband / guildwarband / 6 man group.delcon wrote:Wb builds
From what I've learned so far the rule seems to be: 2 tanks - 2 heal - 2 dps and then depending on your dps either full aoe dmg or single target focus.
Maybe someone with experience can point me in the right direction so i can read up on it. I started playing few days ago.
Thanks!

Re: CNTK Zerg fighting
No 2h tanks in warbands. No black guards or ironbreakers unless youre Bitterstone or their presumed dark elven equivalent. Witch hunters and witch elves are probably out as well. Bring archmages and shamans for morale pump.CircusHabakuk wrote:Are there WB "endorsed" builds posted somewhere? For six mans, get in voice chat, create an assist macro and youre now top 10 server six man. Enjoy.

Re: CNTK Zerg fighting
Thank you GodlessCrom,
may I ask why no IB? I thought they were top tanks back on live servers. But thats such a long time ago I don't really remember tbh.
And what makes BO so much better than IB for Warbands then?
Thanks!

Re: CNTK Zerg fighting
I was half joking. IB were better on live for a lot of reasons: Sword Master had some bugged tactics that didnt work, and so didnt do as much damage as they do here. It also couldnt get its knockdown and also get Ether Dance or WW until like rr70, which sucked. IB's damage scaled very well (I have seen videos of Jvirus, one of the top IBs from live, killing entire groups of people, outdamaging slayers, etc) especially with thr crazy gear you could get. Also, Cave-win was a 4 second knockdown at 100 grudges, which made it the best knockdown in the game (on demand as opposed to BG which requires defense proc). On RoR, IB is still a very good tank, and I think people on tje forums **** on it undeservedly at times but it is basically not specialized enough. SM do more damage, and knights have easier/better utility, so IB is stuck in this weird place where a lot of its utility is overshadowed/covered by a knight, and its assist damage is bettered by the Swordmaster. In a warband, where AoE matters the most, a single-target buffing tank with good single target assist dps just isnt worth it.
BG is a similar spot, but it at least has aoe crit increaser, wounds debuff and aoe block/parry debuff. My BG is still a lowbie though. I know few warbands on destro have a high opinion of them.
If you wanna play those classes, go for it. They are still useful, and honestly, the amount of people going full 100% titanium tryhard on this server are low, so youll still find groups if you know how to swap guard, cc, and assist the dps.
Also im pretty casual: i mostly play in a small group or solo roam. if you want more informed opinions, ask dudes from Phalanx on warband composition, or players like Volgograd and Giggs, who do IB better than I by far.
