Backend talk. Referring to the complexity of the sets as it is related to art/assets, not the power levels. Sov was always intended to be the end-game set, but power creep gotta creep in Mythic-land.

With conq using doom flayer appearance anything thing is possible, for all we know invader or the next sc/pve set could look like sov

Doomflayer was a t4 set, warpforged a tier 5 set, sov was the only tier 6 armour set in game, dont expect it any time soon.

Will the new Onslaught set use unknown skins/ newly made ones or one of the existing but not yet used sets (like warpforged i think?). Cant wait for the new chapter 22 quests, that will be epic! EPIC!

I don't think we have any unique skins set aside for it, so I'll be picking stuff for how it brings each set together out of appearances we already have. Torque would know better about dropping unique appearances in.

As for the "new" ch22 PQ's, the current PQ's should already be working. Just need to get them polished up a bit and toss abilities on all the mobs for a proper warband level challenge.

Interesting, i didnt know there were so many higher armor sets on live.
How could you get them? Did you just go to the vendor with renown rank 80 and bought them with gold/warpforged tokens/renown points or something like that?

What would also interest me: were there so many people with renown rank 80 and beyond? Could you rise the renown ranks faster than on return of reckoning? I mean how did people even get to rank 100?

iirc there was a mix with get enough medallions and a quest chain for warpforged set (rrr100)
you had to take 1 or more keeps with r5 on them for chest piece...

doomflyer set was i think obtainable at vendor for crests or medallions
cant remember if the rr gain was slower after u past rr80

at the last month or more of the game u were given wf gear for free via some book at vendor and lots of gold

minor example; back in spring 2013 there was some kind of "double renown" gain week bonus
I was feeling bored, either get my shaman from rr93 to maybe 95-96 with that boost, but I decided to roll a new WH.
In about one week of gameplay, I got it from zero to something like rr83?
So yeah, renown was dropping like rain during a monsoon season.

Basically you would get mega fast renown gain when sub 80, and even decent/"normal" gain after rr80. People stayed in T3 as rank 39, with people offering condolences to those who did not manage to get up to rr60-70 just by playing PvDoor in t3. Being sub-80, you could probably gain something like 50-100k renown for doing PvE in Altdorf/IC city siege, and past 80 you would probably get a daily 30-50k from doing PvE during the "highlight of the RvR campaign" (City Sieges) per a single city siege. (60-120 mins, bad sieges would allow you to run 2 of them only, but with time optimization you could run at best 3-4 city runs for maximum renown gain from killing boss-mobs). And at worst you had 4-5 city sieges a day because other realm didn't bother defending much because it was just easier to get renown from city compared to stalling the enemy push towards the capital.

Back in 2011 december, when they announced that Karak Azgal was closing down, people started migrating to Karak Norn. However certain guild stayed behind on purpose, so that they could keep farming the enemy cities until the server finally went down and they were forced to migrate. Some of those people would do the "rvr" and push the enemy city maybe 6-8 times a day, squeezing every last bit of that glorious pve-renown from grinding cities.

Yeah, people getting to high renown ranks they most certainly did not deserve and subsequently farming sub100's, 90's and 80's with little to no effort whatsoever.
