Nordenwatch: Fort>2 Points, why?

Something that has bugged me for a long time is the Fort in Nordenwatch. It is the only point you have to hold to win the game, even if they have the other two all game you will win as long as you don't somehow massively feed kills(which if you were, you'd end up losing the Fort eventually anyway).

I feel this just makes the concept of a 3 point map system worthless. It would be akin to say, playing Arathi Basin in WoW and making the BS gain points at 4x the speed of any other point. You would only need to hold BS and maybe one other point at all times to win the game.

Would anyone else just like to see the Fort become a normal point generation like the other two so there's actual tug of wars on points and sneak capping? Once a group is on the Fort it can be a daunting task to crack them off it and if you can't, you never win. Feels wrong.

I mean is it the end of the world if it stays how it is? Obviously not, I'm just curious as to how people feel about it.

Actually To my old warhammer online guide it is 5 points on the smaller flags and 10 on the fortress.

Or is it different here?

It's so that the map doesn't revolve around purely flag capturing. It's already a flag fest as it is, so capturing fort (aka the centre point of the map) and holding it allows people who don't really want to do 100000k runs to have a chance of winning.

We have Reikland Factory if it's CTF your heart is set on :P

Then just remove the other two flags and make it a King of the Hill map and be done with it lol.

Capping a flag immediately gives you like 25 points right? So you still have to watch them if it is a close match. Say you are winning 499 to 475 and they managed to cap either barracks or LH, you just lost.

Or maybe your enemies captured Fort first and kept it for a few minutes but you manage to take it back, yet still are behind in the score, so you need to capture the other flags (sometimes possibly all 3!) to have a chance at winning.

I've been in matches where opponent held fort 95% of the game and we came back to win at last minute because they decided to push in an unorganized way and lost it while we got and held other two. I like the mechanic, and I like how each map has it's unique style. Mix between CTF and King of the Hill.

I'd like to see it tweaked so that holding LH/racks gives just a bit more than fort, for example. Something like fort giving 8pts/5s and each flag giving 5pts/5s, so that you can't just "hold fort and win" which, as has been said, is more akin to a king of the hill style mechanic.

Was the 4th Flag in RF removed towards the end of WAR or was that removed just on RoR? Can't remember.

Fort should worth more points than LH or Bar, but not more than the 2 combined ,imo.
Many times its the winning team sitting on fort with the loser side giving up, doing nothing....not fun regardless of which side youre on

The only gripe I have is that if you don't have a second group that can assist/help (a lot of the time, basically), you would render the map to nothing more than a cardio run-around CTF with people avoiding fights, hence why I mentioned Reikland Factory as the de facto map for the aforementioned.

I dunno about you, but spending 10-15 minutes running around capturing flags is pretty piss boring.
