Opinion on the KotBS (another opinion thread, really? YES!)
Re: Opinion on the KotBS (another opinion thread, really? YE
It's maybe the best defensive tank in the game, but if you want to play an offensive tank better take the IB. For 70% Armor penetration, you have to be very squishy. I once tried to stack weaponskill on my knight with all available items (bear pet, blue rr 83 weapons etc.). Up to 50% is a more realistic value if you still want to fulfill your tank role in pvp. The knight is the only tank that can't debuff his own damagetype. Also his abilities don't scale very well with his (higher) strength stat.

Kotbs is op but please, don't nerf him. It would make me sad
And this tactic stacks with the second morale, giving him 250 str more (500 str together), 250 toughnes and 250 wounds (means he's also healed by 2500)
So, like ever 1-2 minutes for 30 sec full def kotbs gets stats of a damager tank, while boosting his def stats even more.
Don't forget about +15 ap per second for twisting auras, which means he can spam damage almost non-stop, unless drained
About t1: Twohander is the only option untill the next patch, which should fix the guard.

Kotbs doesn't need to stack weaponskill, he gets about 250 ws and 250 initative for free from the tactic, after a parry, together with 250 str.Luth wrote:It's maybe the best defensive tank in the game, but if you want to play an offensive tank better take the IB. Why do you think you are entitled to be OP?Kotbs is op but please, don't nerf him. It would make me sad

Yes i know, i had a rr80+ knight and i didn't say that you need to stack ws. I just wrote that i tried it to see how big the number gets and if it's worthwhile / makes a noticable difference.Nishka wrote:Spoiler:
Imo you just get high stats, but it's no comparison to stacking WS on a mDPS class.

Yeah, the auras are all **** up, I took some time to look at the cool and it will reset every time some one moves in or out, which means that when you pvp you constantly get hit with cooldown resets. Makes juggling close to impossible.

Theres always going to be a majority of players in war that think everyone they beat they were just better than and everyone that beats them is cheating. As I argued with Sulorie about in another thread about op classes and gear. She seemed to think everything was down to players lacking skill.Azarael wrote:

Ignoring the fact that 99% of comments on gaming forums about war are about how bad balance was and it ruined the game.

Thanks for explaining the auras problem. Please, dont bring t4 and 80+ RR rank, as said in another topic its years from now... It's RoR not WAR ;p And even more - stop talking about nerfing classes, firstly they have to be brought back to WAR state, then we can think about changing something... Doing other way is going to bring even bigger disbalance...
But well, for me auras could be usable all at once or 3 at once, no need for sh***y twisting then that only makes you unfocused on fighting ;p

A quick note on this. You're totally right, our attention is focused entirely upon the real problem (getting WAR working as it did). It is my belief that absolutely nothing about the class balance will be changed until the game is fully working and in T4.einarr wrote:And even more - stop talking about nerfing classes, firstly they have to be brought back to WAR state, then we can think about changing something... However, I'm interested in hearing the T4 perspective from the more enlightened posters around here as well.

I've always liked kotbs, although I think sword and board is going to do you a bit better in T1. It's a bit hard to make a dps tank without strength tali's in yet, but you might make it work in T2, when you've got more abilities to play with.
