6oo+ wounds. After that, armor to 2400 potted, reduce your chance to be crit to under 5%, cap resistances, and then stack toughness. As said earlier, you need significant t toughness for it to make an affect. But if you can, it's totally worth it... but you need to have that 6k HP to survive morales and stand up from that KD. Otherwise, a well timed RKD or a WH you didn't see drops you, and you don't even have time to detaunt.

A well-played WH like Csi will most likely kill you during the KD/one or two GCDs after, regardless - UNLESS you have a lot of wounds/very little chance to be crit. Thankfully most WHs active atm aren't so great. Dabbart's advice is good to listen to.

I go full crit, CW2 is a must as a melee as you'll have to commit at some point you a kill and you'll get loaded up with dots, heal debuffs and boiling blood, and whatever's left into parry. To be at all survivable in this game on any class in any setting is knowing what 10 second engagement you will absolutely die without a doubt and subsequently nope nope nope outta there, which you have a chance to win if you get inside the other teams OODA loop, and which fights you can absolutely win by numerical advantage in which case you engage immediately. Still though in all cases, your tank is going to be your life jacket, and orks swim, but hit, like a brick.

This. For the record, my "theory" applies to non-dps classes. DPS is inherently squishy. The lvl of squishiness you can opperate at is based upon how you play them. CW is an amazing ability.
Edit: Also, Pots. Carrying health and AP pots is kinda mandatory. Even the super cheap ones, your healers can't always carry you. And flee/ap Pot still remains one of the best kiting/anti-ktiing tools there is.

It's amazing how many people don't use pots. Even the basic 3600HP over time ones are amazing and they're super cheap on AH most of the time. Would have saved so many people if they had have just potted.
Also detaunt. Detaunt, detaunt, detaunt. For the love of god always detaunt and aim the bloody thing so it tags the backline RDPS as well if possible. If you have 2 tanks in party they should be aiming to rotate it so it has a 100% up time. Each class archetype's detaunt ability is different so you can be clever with it and reduce certain people's damage impact in fights.

Its wounds and crit reduction. And then double HP potion. Moast burst dps specs can't sustain dmg after initial burst so you are often fine if you survive it. But on another note, its extremly hard to survive the burst if its set up properly.

I don't know if they changed it yet, but get to the chopper broke stealth.
Get a moral reg belt and 2 trinkets for Dat tickles+tantrum and slot I'm da biggest.
Parry is probably your best defence since a single parry is 100% damage reduction and a denied possible crit which is 200% dmg reduction even better if whs are specced for repel blasphemy you can parry that too.
Tired already? 5sec cd for 10 sec means whs can't spam torment anymore and they are probably not used to that.
You have a slow they don't slow-backpaddle forces them to use sigil of sigmar once that is on cooldown you can juke them with slow into charge or flee and double ap pot.
Get a couple of those cheap 3.6k reg pots or 2.7k and 1.5k sc pots if you really want to win, combined with Furious Chopping you have so much hps his burst phase will be a joke.
There is more tricks but I just wanted to mention a couple with this you will beat almost any wh in 1v1s.
But ultimately any smart wh would just disengage and restealth when the odds are not to his favor anymore.
