and what is the primary job of a tank ?K13R wrote:Play/played all the tanks in game. As long as you have enough avoidance spefically parry gaurd damage is no issue. Sacrificing All survivability stats is never a good idea on any class esp front line fighter. Some tanks can put out some respectable dps wilst still rotating guard, and controling the flow of battle. My guess its the ones that forsake the primary job of a tank to do try and do the job of a dps toon people have issue with. So in my eyes a tank that can fufill it primary roll wilst doing some good assist damage is just aa valuable as a healer dps'n between heals. Its both healers and tanks that give the middle finger to thier primary roll i think people have issue with.

let those people talk, lol , as i always say , u want to be healed , roll a heal , u want to be guarded , roll a tank your damn self

Re: DPS spec tank/healer Hypocrisy
In pug WB players are usually specced like they should. But dps healer/tank are usually players who offten doing PVE and they join to SC from time to time. And they have no problem, problem always doing flustrated dps.
Re: DPS spec tank/healer Hypocrisy
From my experience ppl only have problems with DPS tanks when they dont guard. IMO I don't see a reason why a DPS tank cant DPS and guard at the same time. It is really easy. So play a DPS tank and use guard and bam you are good. If anything I think DPS tanks that guard are more useful than a deftard tank that guards because they help kill the stuff or threaten DPS trying to give heat to casters.

Every single time some one puts up one of those shut your face videos i feel obligated to point out that he was an rr100 killing undegeared players who wouldnt even detaunt
take those with a grain of salt

Re: DPS spec tank/healer Hypocrisy
Spoiler:
if you go yolo dps without spending your rr right and so on, you will just have a bad time, I can gurantee that out of personal experience, and that's no fun too.
If I play pug sc's I don't give a duck. ppl can do what they want, because I'm slacking myself and just having a good time.
but don't expect me to tryhard if I have 3-4 guys in my sc who are doing just total bullshit. and that's not about playing a underdog build or something, that's more the basic stuff like leaving middle in NW. I try not to be salty most of the time though... I really try.

Re: DPS spec tank/healer Hypocrisy
I run a defenensive 2h BO, with more WS than str and i can kill people. I guard still and i dont have to worry about being 2 shot. Catch a squishy off guard I can lay them out in 1 3 hit combo. Now i also play a choppa because of the quite valid argument of "just roll a dps noob". I die in like half a hit and cant actually kill ****. But i do play solo as i dont have enough time for the try hard guild life.

This issue is the gaming community (not just RoR) is fairly toxic and extremely close minded.
If you deviate from what players percieve you should be doing you will get attacked by a army of status quo defending players that will want to shame you into obedience despite what the sandbox game will allow you to do.
