Months away, at least.

Suppose I'll make a note, "Don't announce anything else more than a week in advance."

Good enough time for people to get as much renown as possible in order to reduce the amount of renown rolled back. Good enough for me.

Regarding renown rate post-40, will the 50% reduction rate be moved up to rr50 or stay the same?

I would expect the RR reduction to stay the same. The only thing you're grinding for after Conq gear currently is mastery points and bragging rights. If we rework mastery points, then all you have left is bragging rights until new gear is introduced. New gear means we would have instances working, which is a fair amount of development time that we can't even get started on until sometime after client control.

There's also the fact that we're comfortable with the slow rate of renown gain, with T4 being out for a little less than a year and we only have a handful of very dedicated players sniffing at the RR80 cap.

Frankly, I feel the current renown gain is just fine. I must have missed something about compression but I took about 9-10 months off and just came back to a 40/40 Character and am already RR 42 from just a few play session of SCs... Havnt done RVR yet, so maybe rate of gain is bigger there, but it definitely feels like a "softcap" at 40 which is good. RR80 is a thing to work towards, along with new gear.

I wish there was a PVP campaign system. Currently the two "carrots" as identified above are:
- gear
- RR80

Once we get gear (which doesnt take incredibly long) itll only be RR80... Once players get that, I know population dropoff occurs... Thats what happened to players who got 40/40 before it was raised to RR80. Got Merc/Anni gear and max RR and then were "done".

What I would rather see DEV time spent on are "seasons" or "campaigns" that run X # of weeks/months that give reason to play above "RR and gear".

Look to other games as inspiration that hold "pvp seasons" and track leaderboards etc.

One POTENTIAL way to do this (that might not go over well) is to do a RR "reset" back to 40 each season. (easy for me to say as I am only 42 LOL). But then you could track a leaderboard based on highest RR each "season" and give rewards to the top guys etc. If you ran a "season" for say 2 months, it would give you some time to create some cool "item" during that time to hand out to the top 20 players on each side or something.

Just ONE idea. Another (if easy to track) would just be like:
- SC wins
and
- Keep takes

Run two "leaderboards" for a "season" and have players progress up a LB. Bragging rights are ALWAYS attractive and a good "carrot" where as gear/RR levels will eventually be accomplished.

A third, and likely controversial idea would be, doing something with the t4 RVR zones to somehow create "progression" over the season for a chance to attack the main city (as the reward).

Just throwing out ideas.

Right now everything is temporary. The keeps you took a few hours ago, have all been reset. Besides maybe some gear and RR levels, thats all that shows... There is no "progression" in PVP. No leaderboards, no "advancement" of a cause of any sort. Its ALMOST as if "it never happened". It would be cool if there was something "greater" going on that each keep you took, each SC you won all counted towards "The War". So you log in the next day and can feel like "man those 20 SCs I grinded yesterday really paid off for our side"

Thats really the only thing ROR is missing right now. Something "larger" than just the battles themselves.
