Hi
Currently the conq medallions are driven by killing blows (maybe damage) and group RNG while zone lock is driven by RNG unless u get in top 20 or so where u get a bonus. Both of these systems are flawed in different ways.
Killing blow favors dps and excludes healers and tanks from effecting the roll chances of a group other than utility in keeping dps alive
Zone lock RNG encourages and rewards ppl to just spend 5 mins with Alta and x-realm in the zone to stand a chance to get loot whole actually taking part and contributing is ignored.
We have a system of kill quests for zone and keep taking, it seems to me better to dump the drop of conq to these quests and create kill quests for the keep taking for loot bags. If u still like roll you could RNG the quest reward. This system does not on the face of it run into technical issues or massive lag. The mechanics seem to be in game already
Replace contribution and RNG with kill quests

Re: Replace contribution and RNG with kill quests
The RNG is the most significant part as only top 20 or so get a roll bonus, as mentioned in the post. Only top get a 500 bonus most a 50 bonus if anything. The result is that the bonus is insignificant to the 1000 roll so a reasonable person would say it RNG ,shaggyboomboom wrote:Do a lot of objectives, supplies and kills.Krima wrote:Tell us the formula !! ???shaggyboomboom wrote:its not rng only

Re: Replace contribution and RNG with kill quests
I would say that it's still pure, undilluted, uncut, unedited RNG. On all the 7 occasions i managed to get into the top 3 spots (and almost had a heart attack from all the suspense) i ended up getting a 00xx or a 02xx roll, which really, really, really, rustled my jimmies.shaggyboomboom wrote:its not rng only
Also, contribution makes no **** sense at all, most of the times i got on the top 3 spots i wasn't even expecting it because i was face down most of the game (Must be that damage taken contribution bonus i suppose) or i was doing f#$% all

Re: Replace contribution and RNG with kill quests
Contribution is obviously still a work in progress. Might wish to take into account that it is zone-wide now, which means you'll be rolling with a lot of other people if a zone is taken during primetime. As Conqueror/Subjugator is the current end-game, it should be difficult to acquire. The luck factor that some have is probably people's biggest frustration, as everyone else is still required to farm Medallions for their l33t gear.
All in all, there's a lot of ways to go about the system. Don't get pissed off because 'you're missing out' or anything like that. You will all get your gear in due time, when this system has been tweaked and worked on extensively. In the meantime, keep fighting for those sweet Medal rolls.

I would like to suggest (for now) that you not show what people's contribution was, just show the final roll. Maybe they will feel less "ripped off" if they don't know the cont. #

I appreciate that you have taken the time to discuss this topic. Unfortunately I disagree with your reasoning.RyanMakara wrote:Contribution is obviously still a work in progress. We can agree the conc drops and zone rewards are a work in progress. Unfortunately I believe tweaking and work over are a poor approach to a mechanism that is intrinsically broken. You have said it technically not possible to build a functioning contribution system, so why hack, tweak and rework it ? It makes little sense when there are simpler and more just solutions for zone capture which incorporate effort , kill count quests.
The conq drops mechanism based on killing blows is unbalanced, encourages kill ninja and heavily disadvantages healers and tanks. Simple solution, get rid of it replace with kill quests.
Result effort reward, clear contribution related rewarding and no need of RNG
Re: Replace contribution and RNG with kill quests
Rewarding only based on contribution would always reward nolife players . If someone that only have 1 hour/day to play, he'd never have any chance to drop anything
