Struggling to find gear.

Hey all.
I am an experienced player under the original game, the second person to level 40 on my server at release and played until it was shut down. It's great to be back playing but i'm struggling...

I can't find appropriate levels of gear to advance my character (squig herder) properly. I'm level 15 and still running around with level 5 gear and with 3 empty gear slots (Helmet, cloak and shoulders). I have one level 15 item. As such i'm also strugglin to complete content. Under the original game you would move through the level content fairly steadily and at level 10,20,30 etc you would have completed the area and have moved on to the next tier.

At level 15 i've still not completed all the content in Tier 1 and struggle in the public quests. Level 8 mobs are hitting me harder than I can hit them and in PQ's i'm doing a single point of damage only to Heros. So I can't do appropriate level content very easily as any time two or mobs are pulled i'm obliterated. The squigs do nothing to hold aggro, and mobs catch me when kiting, plus the respawn rates are stupidly high so you kill one thing and by the time you've killed another the first mob is back again and ganks you.

RVR is a joke with level 19 players. A couple of hits and your dead so there is no real advancing through RVR, working in a team I pick up maybe 2 to 5 renown per kill because the damage levels I contribute are so low.

So I dont need any retarded 'git gud' comments from sad basement dwelling wannabe trolls. Just need to know what i'm missing under the new server and where I can get appropriate gear from.

There's a ton of blue/purple gear available on the auction house, or team up with a couple other players to complete PQs and use the influence gear fom that chapter. That gear should be just about top of the line for your level.

There are renown gear vendors that you can purchase from for silver at your level. There is a new renown vendor for a few different level brackets. They are located in the capital city. This gear is good enough to allow you to compete in RVR/SCs. If your renown rank is low you may be limited by the level gear you can wear and NoRKaLKiLLa's suggestion may be a better way to go until you get your RR up a bit.

RR Level is only 9 since, as posted, i'm only getting a couple of rr pts per kill in groups and can't get any kills outside of a group. So I already have all the top renown gear I can get my hands on.

There never appears to be any people above Tier 1 to group up with for PQ's. Everyone of Tier 2 level is farming Tier 1 level players in RVR.

Great alternative for fun and progress are scenarios. Closed map and being forced to work in parties sometimes make people actually work as a group:) If u find RvR (t1 Nordland) being dull and depressing, get to rank 16 and you will be in bigger healhtier bracket t2-t3, ranks 16 to 30.
Also, RoR is and will be for long time a PVP game, with low population as for an alpha stage pve`ing can be frustrating.
