There are zero facts to back up the allegations someone is better than someone else in the game current state. Lets wait until the game is truly equal across every aspect, taking into account latency, team balance, character fixes, gear fixes, ability fixes, etc, etc.
Until then, this topic is ridiculous and no more than a popularity contest.

the game is in alpha mode
buggy as hell
abilities aren't at 100%
stats on gear and weapons aren't at 100%
theres a lot of lag in the game
there are people cheating/exploiting
just sc's and T1 are available to players
most don't pvp

to ask this question at this stage of the game is, in my opinion, lame. and to be honest, there is no such thing as "the best player" in this game; never was. back when warhammer was live AND HAPPENING (as short lived as the time period was), every now and then you'd see a post regarding a similar topic. people talking about who is the best, im the best, he/she is the best, blah, blah, blah....people tooting their horns or getting their ass licked by noob players and/or retards. my buds and I would roll our eyes and just laugh.

the fact is this game is "group" play, not "individual". people will play in premades or run around in their own little 6man groups. so how do you determine who is the "best" if that said individual plays under the protection of his/her groupmates? the only TRUE way to determine who is the best is picking out of a group of players that developed a reputation for themselves for often pvp'ing alone and doing really well, or has a good win percentage form challenges. and even then its hard to determine because of gear,weapons, and pocket items, etc., play a major role in warhammer (or will once the game gets out of alpha).

in the almost 6 years ive been playing there are just a few players that come to mind that my guild mates and I use to give mad props too for having the balls to fly solo and playing the class the way it was truly intended to be played, which were all WE classes, and among those few the one the really stood out was a WE named Deathette. no matter what time of day I was on, or what order character, she was always around, always by herself, and was very,very good.

there were some really good wh's that developed a rep for racking up db's and all and being skilled, but all of them mostly played in their group.

sorry for the long post. its just that as soon as I saw the topic, I felt this strong, uncontrollable urge to post what was on my mind.

Only because destro are too stupid to attack healers. When i put pressure on her with my SH she usually continues to heal her group and forgets to heal herself , dying most of the time. Don't get me wrong, i love Sunny (chibichangaaaaaaa) but she is not the best RP in the game. Last night i saw this RP (forgot his name) who actually detaunted me and got out of range as soon as i put a DoT or armor debuff on him, making it really difficult to apply pressure. That alone made him far better than most RPs i have seen so far.

It is too soon for "best of" threads since there are very, very few premades around. Once you see more premades on both sides, many of the players you consider "the best" will become irrelevant.

Nice contradiction. How can you say the best players are the ones who solo, and then in the same post say that WAR is a group game?

This IS a group game, which means the best players are the ones who know how to be team-players. I knew many players that were pretty awesome at soloing but failed in groups. They didn't assist, thought everything was about them (major divas), didnt follow orders, and ultimately failed. In a group-based game, these guys are terrible no matter how good they were at soloing.

You say some apparently good premade players get carried. I agree, but that doesnt mean all premade divas are being carried too. Don't generalize. In a good premade, all members actually carry each other and fulfill a role. These, however, are rare. So i understand your confusion.

So, yeah. As i said, you have to wait until more premades run around doing RvR, wiping whole wbs by themselves and defeating the best premades from the other realm. Only then willl you be able to say "these guys are the best players".
