Choose to believe or not, its not my concern nor do I care, but it did happen in T4 two nights ago in TM. However geared or under geared, lucky or skilled, lagged or unlagged, three players died to one WH...and it happened here in RoR.
Put that in your pipe and smoke on it. ^^

I don't know how you got the idea that WH is an OP class, while people who play it (you clearly don't) and many others think otherwise. I thought you might be trolling, now i'm pretty sure it's your lack of competence annd knowledge of the game. Anyway, whoever loses 3 vs 1 against a WH is terrribly bad or undergeared: happened to me only once, against a zealot-sorc-mara trio, I was in BiS gear and they cleary weren't, burned two pots and only won because they freaked out when i popped on the zealot. Against competent players, you can't even THINK about doin this, they will CC you to death and heal themselves just with potions after the initial burst.Grolar wrote:Choose to believe or not, its not my concern nor do I care, but it did happen in T4 two nights ago in TM. Re: Witch Hunter's Current Place in the Meta?
1V1, my WE/WH might succeed in killing depending entirely on how aware the target is, if they insta detaunt, knock me back or start potting, no chance.
1v2, maybe occasionally, depending if targets are slacking and also lacking awareness. Might happen from time to time.
1v3, I've only managed to kill 3 people once on my WH and that was on Badlands in 2013 and in T2, but oh boy, I still remember it....
Anyway, WE/WH are very situational, their "opening burst" has a 1 min cd, which makes them less ideal for meleetrain 6man groups. Ofc a good player can shine on them, but imagine how much much deadlier the 6man would be if the good WE/WH would switch to some other mdps?
Mara, choppa, slayer, WL; they are all "frontline" troops, meant to enter the thick of combat and smash things around in the centre of the battle. WE/WH meanwhile are supposed to use their strength which is sneaking around, going for the backlines and hitting the soft robed targets; they are not designed to charge like madmen into the deadliest sector of the frontline. They are the special commandos who sneak around, going back to shadows once possible.
And I think it is fine as it is, I wouldn't want to play my T4 WE as some kind of aggressive frontline charger, I enjoy sneaking to the back. WH is still in T2, and sneaking is just as much fun. If I wanted to play a meleedps who fits into a 6man meleetrain I would probably have rolled a choppa.

Re: Witch Hunter's Current Place in the Meta?
Ofc a SM makes sense, as long as we still have proc meta.
Usually a ranged grp has to run 3 dps to have enough pressure against permanently guarded mdps.
With procs an SM can do considerable dmg, especially with his high combat uptime while a WH/WL has to engage and disengage, the fact that any mdps can keep up with the SMs fluffdmg speaks in their favor of having higher burst dmg and lower sustain dmg.
The second guard offered by the SM brings a lot of stability to the setup while you only have to take minor cuts in burst dmg, a good trade as long as you rely on the insane proc dmg.
Once procs get nerfed and I have no doubt they will, the dmg of 2 rdps and an SM won't be enough to kill a target in guardrange, in fact it wasnt even enough with procs from time to time.
With the AM/SHAM changes we had a huge increase in healing potential on both sides (lifetaps can easily heal for 4k+, for 1 GCD usable while moving, highly reliable due to strikethrough and no toughness mitigation ), while the dmg potential only got increased by procs.
Considering WL > WH, WL offers better synergy with an armordebuff, better assist with pounce and does considerably more burst dmg.
WH has his place in a melee comp but for a ranged comp he is not mobile enough to follow the frequent target switching and the kiting movement.

Re: Witch Hunter's Current Place in the Meta?
MUST be because wh is op! Can't POSSIBLY be because ror has an abundance of terrible players (look at korze soloing 3 40whs in one vid)Grolar wrote:Choose to believe or not, its not my concern nor do I care, but it did happen in T4 two nights ago in TM. Do you play magus?Grolar wrote:The reason I brought up the WH as a 1 v 1 class is that I feel all classes should work the same way. Not that all classes should be as strong as the WH ( too strong imo ), but just that they should be able to go 1 v 1 with most other classes minus a few exceptions. More like a Rock,Paper, Scissors design.
I feel the more I play RoR the more it seems less R,P,S than it should be ( Tank > MDPS> Range > Tank )
With respect to the WH I've seen them take down 3 people solo. With the knockdown, bounce back, range and high dps its not a surprise. I haven't seen another class able to take on as many equally except a WL.
MY two cents

Any well-played person with pots can take down 3 trash players. Korze did it on Sorc, Volgo does it on IB, I'd wager Konrik can do it on his slayer, BG can do it, Magus can do it: it's doable with any class.

Re: Witch Hunter's Current Place in the Meta?
This, basically. I'm not even as good as volgo and I've done a 3v1 succesfully on my IB. The players were just undergeared and garbage, so it's barely even an achievement. Killing a good player once 1v1 is more of an achievement. So yeah, that WH killed three terrible players. Big deal. Doesn't mean WH is op, or whatever point Grolar was trying to make.peterthepan3 wrote:Any well-played person with pots can take down 3 trash players.
