A million times yes or at least 1 week cd. Xrealm is the plague of this awesome project, and is an instrument for turncoats to ruin the experience for the rest of us. Choose a side and deal with it.

Next thing to block is switching between different tiers and zones, because nobody can flee from battle when your faction needs you. These cowardly deserters ruin experience for the rest of us!
/s

Problems come not from possibility of switching sides, but from why people want to do so.
Removing the symptom is not going to cure the disease.

Blocking realm switching wll also remove one very simple way of improving faction balance.
Blocking RR gain after switching sides will cause collateral damage - punishing people who just wanna play their other toon without any "xrealming" in mind.

The best solution is to provide alternative reward for defence against stronger forces. As simple as that. And then it can be expanded to include "call-to-arms" to incentivize "xrealmers" to switch to weaker side.

As Destro biased/hardcore/sided, I find the current period of Destrozerg and Empty Keep disturbingly boring, at the point I am seriously pondering about levelling my dusty rank7 Witch hunter. Apparently, not even a miserable reward for zone lock is enough to stop this. (I agree on that)
I actually made more rr/inf solo killing today in CW then the last three days. The issue of realm imbalance is real. For my experience, at least. (God bless aao 400%, :D)

While playing late night NA times, it's not uncommon to see one side have 60%+ of the population in T4. Why would I want to log into the side that is zerging? I prefer to log in and actually have fights, not have to sit around for an hour and wait on a scenario to pop.

Yup same a short lock out timer of say maybe four hours is perfect, And a I too have always perfered to log on the underdog side than the side that's zerging.

If I couldn't switch to the lower number side back on live due to lockout, I either loged off, or played an alt rather, than ride the zerg.

Look at this way. Even if people make a second account, they still can't xrealm on their first account with their r40 order and r40 destroy char. They gotta relevel again lel.

I would request there is no such thing as a perma lockout. I'd even request that they not add a long timer to switch factions.

Yes, there is the chance people could "swap factions" to end up on the winning side. If this was a massive population full of your average gamer, I'd agree this is a risk. At that point, I'd add restrictions that you can't swap faction to the same tier for a period of time. But.. we are a small community. I'd imagine that eventually most people know who they are facing on the opposite side, and the folks here want to play a fun, balanced game. Because of that, I'd think folks would be more inclined to log to the "losing" faction to balance the fight and have more fun / challenge, than increase the steamroll.

As an aside, ignoring people abusing this mechanic... in live there was no such lockout, unless it was added right at the end. For most working adults, adding a timer / restriction to when you could switch does nothing but create inconvenience for the time we have to play out of our days. Last night I played my orc, then logged over to piddle on my slayer a bit before bed and created a WP. If I had that lockout, my night was done. Only on weekends could someone really (potentially) log off one faction, wait 'x' hours, then log back on another.

A perma lockout to me would frankly be a huge turnoff. Lots of us are Warhammer fans and restricting the experience of the different classes would be a detriment to the community. Just my thoughts.

I've argued that xrealming is more perception than actual reality. Are there people who actively xrealm? I'm sure. Do most people do it? I truly do not believe so and here's why: unless its someone who only plays 1 or 2 characters per side, it takes a TON of time to keep up with several toons on both sides and its also more difficult to truly wreck if you're not in a guild and I feel it would be a challenge to maintain a presence in 2 guilds simultaneously unless you have nothing but time on your hands which the vast majority of us don't.

Maybe I'm naive but it seems like it would be WAY more trouble than it's even worth to be a serious xrealmer to the point that it would cause a detriment to the rest of us. That is not to say that this never happens, I just feel that its a lot rarer than people think. Just my 2 cents.

Or people who are sick of taking empty keeps will play less and less, because they are stuck on the zerging side.
Dying is no option.

WHAT ABOUT?! lockout until one side or the other locks all zones? #SealOfDomination

Stay on one side until total victory is achieved!

Server resets and server patches should be considered as exceptions, unlocks after changes.
