You don't even play chess only with tower's, king & jumper's - you need the full skillset.

all true, tought.... nerf a bit both dmg and heal would make spec def stats more worth on classes different from those that alredy have inner advantage to spec defensly.

eh, with only anni gear you're kinda supposed to get melted in a few GcDs in T4 though...

Overall it isn't that 'bursty' IMO.. A few cases I noticed where the usual DPS are able to do their high dps 'spike' effectively usually with some sort of disable or knockdown, sometimes a slow down too. More too now magus, even dps sham now...
Covenant of Celerity? On all group mates? Really?

i agree, its slighty too bursty atm. if the devs could shave the sharp edges off the game would be in the right phase. i have no particular problem. Also perhaps it got something to do with the amounts of wounds we play with. Wich is also very low compared to what i was used to

Detaunt on sight, armor/res potions , toughness, disrupt/dodge/parry , use coverages and get los from rdps, learn to manage your range and learn about positioning, get guard and healers, learn to get in and out if you're a mdps... study your opponents and chances you have to beat em ( and how ). There're not perfect players ( just good ones ) remember there's a human always behind a toon. Its a painful road but you will improve with the time and practice.

WAR has always been about the best balance for 6 man party, and the basic is 2 tanks 2 dps 2 healer group, then you will usually win any fight against groups that aren't in balance that much like missing 2nd healer or missing tanks all together.

For best performance you need tank,healer,dps party synergy going on. After that you need to focus on what tank works best with what dps if you want to play min/max game.

Reducing burst might make dot classes actually worthwhile too

Don't forget the completely non-game-breaking renown abilities of Resolute Defense and Cleansing Winds! Only the pros use them oh so good!
