Meh, most people don't bother playing support because it gets damn boring over time. It's also less rewarding than actually getting those kills yourself. Recent DoK/WP nerfs also simply gave more incentives to quit playing them.

Seeing people insult actual healers (who actually focus on healing, not dpsing) or actual tanks (who wield shield and actually use guard in actual guard range) is extremely rare.
People being angry at loldps 2h tanks who fail to guard or at healers who try focus on dmg and forget about healing is somewhat more common. (and on the occasion even justified IMO, as their sc slot could have been filled with some actual support character)

It does work. When you have less toxic people in the community. players that are not toxic tend to feel more welcomed and will stick around. If you're not reporting bad behavior, you're part of the problem.

Not from me dammit! Kicked my arse several times last night....then again, when I get a full set of gear and more renown, maybe I'll last a little longer.

This offten is not any violation or curse and I do not know whether have to do the screen and send you.
I would call it annoying kids who still want something. But sometimes they can be pretty bad. I personally got two bans when wanted answer them something. And now everything is guilty of a man who tried to help others by playing a tank or a healer. Exactly about this I talking.

@penril remove him from your ignore list, then reapply it. I've had issues with the ignore not sticking sometimes. Updating my UI caused it to just stop for me.

Also, as a user of ToL, who has it on multiple abilities, you need to be somewhat considerate. Put the messages into the /emote channel, set the delay to 10s so you don't spam, and only put a few key abilities on 100% use(like rezz and guard switch, you can also set these abilities to ignore the delay).

Edit. Also for gods sake, put the Rezz message into /shout so only your realm can see it. No need to put out a message telling the enemy where they can find a freshly rezzed player...

But to each their own...

If you find it offensive, or mean-spirited, you should make a report. Think of it this way, the report you send might not be a "punishable offense". But, the Devs/GMs are great about keeping track of Warnings and Offensives in general. So, if the player is a serial ****-talker, then they will be dealt with. You don't want the first time they do something truly punishable to be the first warning they(gms) ever receive info on that player. Let them get a Warning prior to actually being Banned, it might clean up their act a bit. Or just nip that in the bud from the get-go when they flip out over a warning.

And besides the point, don't ever suffer in silence. Martyr's are only cared about after they have died/been punished.

Why don't we just incentivize not being an asshole? Wouldn't that mean less bans?

To be perfectly honest, do you need to incentivise it? Any good person surely wouldn't be an arsehole anyway? It is probably better that we should know who the bad gitz are in the first place, thus the community will be fillèd with good humoured players and make it better for all.
