Damage done can be undone. Surely people playing healers understand that? :p
As I said the damage is not caused by the changes themselves but by the way they were made up,came in and were enforced.
That's fine. Some players need to understand that they don't run the game and that there are some things they are broadly mistrusted on, and one such thing is taking difficult decisions that will cause upheavals. If you and others have a problem with WP and DoK because of the melee heal spam that's going on, you'd be damn right and I'd agree with it. Ye gods, I'm so sick of having to repeat that. If you've got a problem because you weren't consulted (this is still our project and I for one do not work on it just to be blocked by players on something, sorry), because an upheaval was caused (coarse before fine) or because you or others wanted WP and DoK to play in exactly the same way with small tweaks to survivability instead (gross concept violation and skill floor issues), then I've much less sympathy.
There are going to be difficult periods, and if there are any decisions I regret, they would be making changes to RvR and class balance at the same time and pushing the WP/DoK ex without client control, leaving me stuck with a problem I can't resolve until the patcher. For that, I will happily apologise - I should have waited, and aside from reverting the Surging Power / Changer's Blessing changes on Magus, I will be waiting, so that this doesn't happen again. But make no mistake, WP and DoK were
always going to get pushed into building resource properly and using two masteries at once to heal, rather than one.
I'd direct people who disagree with my decisions to act unilaterally towards the balance forum, by the way. Look at how many topics just die because people can't even agree on what to do, except that they don't want whatever the other guy wants to do. Someone in the community has to bear the cross of making executive decisions, and that person is me.
