No. NO ONE would be able to run through a tank (either friend or foe). This would significantly reduce the CD checks on the server (i think, but i could be completeley wrong too lol).

I'm not sure if it wouldn't make only tanks being able to block other tanks, since if other characters don't calculate collision they would be able to pass chars that do calculate it. Other characters detect collision constantly, otherwise you would be able to go through walls, or never get stuck on terrain. No, collision is required to make all melee work.... with 5 feet melee skils,l snare is the only anti kite option, collsion is required to always stay on target ass, if you remove collision ppl will start free trough you and jump here and there flee like idiots monkeys, or you so blind to not see all bw in sc doing it?
The only things that must be touch is collision while enter in the keep door, thesre collision on official servers suck it need to be check better while you go in that spot

Collision detection in WAR was afaik like this:
- CD was generally off by default
- If an enemy enters the sight radius of another player, collision detection is switched on
Afaik PvP-CD was never deactivated on the live server. They deactivated it once on the PTS without telling the players.
I think switching on CD only for tanks would not work, because to hinder other players to walk through the tanks there must be some detection that there is a tank blocking the way (aka collision detection).
Also i think the CD when a player is walking against a fixed object (e.g. wall, tree, ...) is a matter between the server and one client. The player vs player CD is a matter between the server and many clients.
Btw i think the devs will handle this when the time is right, but there is probably much "easier" or more important stuff to code atm.
Even in this early state of the game, there are things that work better than on the mythic server (e.g. shadow warriors can't accidently deactivate their stance when using the same stance twice; when this happened on the mythic server, the sw had almost no skills available for five seconds...).

Hmmm.. collision detection via GPU. Let those GPU boxes handle your collision detection for high-speed interactivity without bogging things down... I dunno, could work:
