Trying to debunk a little, mirroring the same combo a engi does ST, a magus is required to be nearer for use the dot tactic and the combo takes 0,5 seconds more tough what apply the tactic dot also does a direct hit in addition.

Then regarding the source of damages, physical attack right now have less mitigation due to armor debuff. Compared to resistences debuff due the overpresence of chosen/kobs and the real need to that presence to counter bw/Sorc bomb.
Also this buff influenced the auto attack with out take count of that more attack = more crits with same crit chance.

Another problem is the cannon smash M3 which provide a like festering arrow skill which also bypass guard. Which add even more burst to a alredy enough burst combo.

Remaining on guard this enforce a lot the 2-2-2 meta since the ST combo pretty much finish you in few sec and from outrageous range It's mandatory have guard and have it near you; where in sc this is bit less a problem in rvr with all what happen around even stay 1 sec out of guard range can be your doom and this kill pretty much any alternative comp.

Also regarding procs they have the same problem of crit; more attacks more procs.

To elaborate more all the bw/sorc bias actully mag/engi counter these classes due to the range while these classes togheter with squig/ sw counter with their kiteing toolas mdps. Which in cc own engi/magus.

Another problem lay in the aoe spec where engi can keep up 100% of the times his damages which is better while magus have some long CD on 2 aoe skills, this with out considering if the pull is really undefitable right now

the solution it's nerf both range and damages a bit or nerf one of these 2 component, regardless magus till need work on it cuz he have different tools and skill disposition which make both his ST/AOE combo scale differently than an engi.

Any MDPS that think they can accomplish anything by picklocking into a defended keep in european prime time, must have some sort of underlying diagnosis.

the keep wall ninja discussion cannot be considerate as long the guard do not work ingoring the vertical difference between 2 player ass Y.

You do not make ninja your melee for free en masse with the risk to loose ppl around and loose both ppl in general for the siege and ppl in the front line so that it's easier wipe you.

IF guard would ingore ass Y then with aoe heals a bit of skill and a tank that stick to the walls it could be possible. Use that tactic effectivly.

Do Tanks not have something better to do than hug around walls? I just imagined threads popping up :-P
Mimimi they want me to be Wallbot and only run around siege walls :)

Off topic I know as is most of the last two pages. In order to make MDPS useful in keep sieges (which is what ORVR consists of for the most part) you need to stop allowing free rez into keep. This will place heavy emphasis on postern doors and the like.

In order to make pick lock better, look at decreasing the cooldown, and making the buff longer. Or make the keep doors only require pick lock from the outside. It's pretty much a death sentence to enter a keep with picklock if there is more than a wb defending.

Think its more the overwhelming amount of engineers compared to maguses that is making mostly destro notice this. Its funny people say t4 and this and that its where engineers shine at killing rams :D

I think the best way to deal with this and actually make pick lock something usefull is decreasing the numbers at the keeps. Against 3 warbands worth of people defending, there's nothing relevant for mdps to do on the walls. The problem is that it's the highest time zink of all objetives combined so everyone gathers there. Removing focus from the Keeps to the RVR lakes and BO's so time is spent equally on Open Field and BO's to Keeps would sort this out. Making BO''s harder to take (12+ instead of 6+) and keep doors much less HP would solve this problem I think as it would require more people to both take and retake the flags wich means there are less people at the Keeps. Increasing the wounds of the BO champions and heroes evenly over all 4 BO's by the HP removed from the Doors maybe? This will make Engies/Magus much less dominating in Keeps (with the experimental changes) as you spend much less time at the keeps. There's probobly 1000 ways to shifting the focus from the Keeps to the lakes and BO. Was just one example.

Agree with spreading the zerg. I am hopeful for the new ORvR keep ranking system.

This.
Torquemadra wrote:Because of where the war is currently centered, keeps with walls and peoples natural cowardice and desire to huddle and wait, rdps is king. Systems are changing in RvR which may alter that and I have no idea why MDPS dont use lock pick to go inside and start killing people, I was on the walls on my WH the other day grabbing kills left and right, suggested to the other mdps standing looking at the door they may want to get in on my most profitable bounty and exactly 0 mdps did anything and continued to stand and look at the door.

Point is we cant make people use their characters as intended.
Something like this - pick-lock door and try to run to the walls to at least to be able to kill something and have somewhere to fall back to - then you get range knocked down by a SW and/or BW - dies outside ress range - has to run all the way back - will probably get ganked while trying to get back to keep.

For WH/WE it gets MAYBE a little bit better because you can stealth, but probably only during low population times since as soon as you pop you instantly get 10 engineer dots plus you just become this huge target for all the defenders.
