Forced to use a VPN to get into the game

When I log in, I get a blank black box and then the application terminates.

- The Launcher is not perfect, this can take several attempts to load correctly. Keep trying. If the connect button does not work, close it and try again.



My brother and I have followed every step listed: we have made our game folders not read-only, replaced data.myp, made war.exe require administrator, have reset the router, followed some advice Viny gave (start cmd as admin and run this: ipconfig /flushdns --- turning off the internet adapter and restarting -- turning off the router), followed advice previously given to me by Elven - nada.

It's very peculiar because it only started to occur upon a random internet crash. To the best of my knowledge, our external IPs have changed the same - but we can no longer join without reliance on a VPN.

This is definitely something on our end, and any help would be much appreciated as we have exhausted all other options to the best of our knowledge and have followed all the topics/stickies here to no avail.

Try same rig on another wifi/router/access point? I had problem with my (cr)apple in NAT mode

No luck :/ Seems strange considering all it took was the internet crashing for 1minute - maximum.

I believe many other members, as well as staff (including myself) suffer from this. I've noticed it recently (while I was never effected previously until now). I'm gonna presume this is the result of the constant DDoS attacks that can have an impact on the login server, causing timeouts and connection failures.

As it stands, other than ensuring a higher reliability (Ethernet connection) on you end, nothing can be done.
