Farming greens for Salvage...

Probably spent a few hours each day over this past week farming greens in each tier to level up my salvaging character, but holy crap the drop rate on greens is so incredibly low.... Do you guys just suck it up and buy out the AH or have somebody do it for you...? I have cleared out a t3 PQ multiple times for 30-35 items and I get about 2 to drop through the whole PQ, pretty disheartening/annoying. Any tips or suggestions welcome. I am farming with a 40 slayer in full ruin, so I pull ~10 mobs at a time.

If im not mistaken Champions have a higher chance to drop Green items. So find a good spot full of Champions and farm them.

Yea, it can be a rough grind.

Personally, I think the change to allow you to lvl up butchering/scavenging on any rank Mob made it harder to lvl up magival salvage. Before, you had to kill lvl specific Mobs anyways, so you just spent an extra couple minutes at each lvl range to lvl them both up at the same time.

Myself, I have Zero Sympathy for anyone lvling up crafting skills. I got both salvage and scavenge maxed when we had nothing between mob lvl 31-39. We had 40's. And we had 30-31's... 175-200 was physically painful. And this is a guy who happily farmed Cards on RO for other guildies... But I digress...

The lvl range on salvaging is pretty loose, so the best way would be to target the most drops/min. If this means you farm lower lvl toons and just have to salvage a little more often it will still be faster than tanking the highest lvl you can salvage.

You must be grouped or just have really bad luck. My avg drop rate is a lot higher than that... Maybe try outside of a PQ?

Probably accurate, but I can't kill champs nearly as fast as I can kill normals! Would need to know drop rates to really be able to say whether this was true or not. Appreciate the comment!

Dang, that sounds rough... yeah I am fairly new to server (joined just before the DDOS escapades) so I have it easy by comparison. I have been farming just PQs for greens, so that could be the culprit. Scavenging+Talisman making was fairly easy to do, but beyond those I haven't done much for crafting.

Makes sense to target the highest drops/min, I am using a 40 slayer to farm drops, so I am sure that I am getting decent drops/min wherever I go... it is just a matter of WHERE to go to get good drops/min. :D

Salvaging is for alts. and only alts. You can make a r1 whatever and call it Salvagebot.
If you're going Hedge Wizard you should make your make a scavenger so you can scavenge while you're waiting for drops.

It is ok on a WH/WE since their lack of aoe grinding possibilities make them aweful butchers/scavangers.
