Hello, This is my first post on the forums and I must say, I very much support the continuation of one of my Favorite MMO's, and thank all those who work hard to keep it alive. I would like to suggest the addition of Playable musical Instruments, I have seen this done in Lord of the Rings Online and it was incredibly interesting, essentially a player can purchase an interment in-game and find .ABC files all over the web to play their instrument, The song would be played by the system and the notes would sound like the instrument being played and it goes ever further, there was also a synchronized playing system, so songs were created with multiple parts were a full band could play and it sounded and looked AMAZING. I don't know if this is a possibility in WoWH. But it would be very cool to see. also if it is added, I would recommend using the same sounds of the Lord of the rings online instruments as there is already a WIDE array of songs that can be played with them,
Thanks, I cant wait to see a dwarf heavy metal band!

I know what you're talking about. I did like this feature from LOTRO. However, on RoR, it will require alteration of the client at the very least. If it was ever implemented, it's definitely a low priority thing.

Re: Small but cool aditions.
Even if they would be able to implement such, grabbing the files from Lotro would push it though.
Re: Small but cool aditions.
Assets used from other games is a no-no. Even if slightly modified. The idea is enough.
To then implement, then animate, and then import into the game files is another matter.

Well, the sounds are that of actual instruments, so I mean, you could probably use some other way of getting the sounds that are similar, so that the songs would still work to a degree, they cant claim the sounds of whole instruments, I don't know were LOTRO got theirs, but I don't see why RoR couldn't do the same

I can see the HE RP guilds in their dozens if such a change came to pass!
in regards to the instruments: could just ask the community for musicians to record various notes/chords.

however, I bet they are available some were on the internet already, high quality and similar, I don't know if the songs will work if there is much variation, I think there are instruments already recorded specifically to run with .abc files.
I looked into it, and I found another game with the same .abc file system, http://starbound.wikia.com/wiki/Instruments
I don't know how they implemented it, unsure if they recorded their own sounds..

True, but the last thing RoR wants to do is gain unwelcome attention. Provided the samples are free to use, then sure. My best friend and I have about 7-8 different instruments between us, some expensive recording equipment and so if such a thing were to be implemented i'd be happy to help with him in recording some HQ sounds.

well, if RoR wanted to be able to use the almost all the .ABC files from that website I listed up in my post, then a Lute, Clarinet, Drum, Flute, Bagpipe(optional), Bass, and Harp would be needed, But, I really do think that it might be possible to get them for free, they must be lying around some were, also, the sync system and playing system would have to be very similar to LOTRO,

Well, once they are able to patch the client, things like that might get added in the future.
But before this breaking-point, stuff like that just istn't possible.
