WH: Total War, Vermintide or 40K Eternal Crusade

i still get fun with dawn of war 2 retribution playing again the ia, eternal crusade is a fail for me, small company , broken promises and early access..

It's Total War Warhammer for me. When I first discovered the Warhammer Fantasy Battles it was on tabletop and on tabletop you have an army and move around your units. Same thing in Total War. However, if my memory is not clouded with nostalgia, I find the tactical and strategic choices too limited in Total War compared to how I remember tabletop. But ofcourse, in tabletop we made our own maps and the variety was just better. I can't remember even once that lining up in one long line was the better option, but it seem in Total War that is more or less all you do. Still I play Total War with great joy, it is a Warhammer game and I am hooked.

EC is a bit meh atm, but Eldar have been added =D I bought early access to the game and atm I'm waiting for it to be more fleshed out/get a better PC. Even if it turns out to be meh, I love 40k and the chance to play as an Eldar/Dark Eldar appeals to me a lot.

I am actually kind of hating Total War: Warhammer right now. The Grand Campaign is just really really awful.

I love Total Warhammer. I enjoy the Total War series in general, though not a huge fan of Empire or Shogun 2, since I don't particularly care for Napoleonic or Japanese history. I would say that Total Warhammer is probably the best one I've played since Rome 1, though I also really enjoyed Attila (and Rome 2, but it took a lot of patches to make it good). But if you don't like the Total War gameplay, which does not involve a very in-depth grand campaign, at least compared to Paradox grand strategy games like Crusader Kings 2, then you won't like Total Warhammer either. I think a lot of people bought it expecting it to be something it just wasn't gonna be. Though, I do believe it has had by far the most positive reception of any Total War game since Medieval II.

Eternal crusade looks pretty disappointing so far. The melee is horrible, the voice acting and a good portion of the animations are very cringey, the maps are entirely generic and have no flavor to them, and it's not even an MMO anymore.

Yeah I agree, people were so excited when we finally got news of a WH:40K MMO after Dark Millenium https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zt5e2OX9FUk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZ0EJdhR43Q was canceled, and Behaviour who are making Eternal Crusade were talking so much about this and that and you name it and fans called out to them not to **** it up because people just love Warhammer overall and especially 40K then when early access was released you suddenly realized they were going in a different direction than spoken, that's why I loved the original mmorpg concept of Dark Millenium, I think the gameplay trailer looked great and I was so much looking forward to it but it broke my heart when it was canceled, now Eternal Crusade looks even worse even though it's early access you can see in what direction they are going for.

Just wondering, isn't there some sort of an Alpha version of Dark Millennium just begging to be released on a private server?

Total War for me is boring since I play a lot of Total War games and its the same for me. Eternal Crusade doesn't look promising for me. I played diablo 2 &3 and they will release arpg next year called Inquisitor: Martyr
