I wonder how many people have already completely given up on the server?
I'm still hoping, but its wearing thin.

We are in the process of getting better protection. We tried a few other configs on our end, which stopped the first wave and the server was back up for a few days. Then a different one came in that we haven't been able to address effectively with our current resources. DDOS is cheap at the small scale, so we're growing a bit to make sure that they'll be spending significantly more money to disrupt us in the future. I doubt anyone will bother us again.

Hopefully a few more days of being down and we should have it sorted. It's not really an issue of money, but trying to work with what we have and being pushed past the constraints we've been working with for the past 3 years. If people hadn't decided to be d!cks to us, then our current services probably would have been sufficient for a much longer time.

We've most of the new things set-up already, but because of it being the weekend we're unfortunately unable to move forward with some other things until - presumably - Monday, when the workweek starts.
Expect the server to be available during the coming week.

The ones that won't play anymore are likely MMO butterflies and would have moved on soon even if the server was up 24/7.

I'm actually sort of glad to hear that as a term, means it's a thing. I would do it all the time and annoy the **** out of my friends, swap from WoW to Everquest to GW to blah blah blah, WAR was the only game that ever got me to sit down and play it into Endgame. That's why I came back, fond memories, best RvR I've ever had and it's the only MMORPG I ever stuck with.
