The only reason why I think it may not have been a DDoS attack was that you could log onto the server last night, but it looked like some of the databases were desync'd from the server (no equipment - even on new characters, no quests, merchants not selling anything, etc). The game itself was running smoothly and without lag. I won't pretend to be some type of server expert, but from my limited experience the aftermath made it look like a databases issue.xblooded1x wrote:Kinda agree here. I was playing before the server went down, as an IT Security guy IRL, the server FELT like it was experiencing a very heavy traffic load, and for the mornings EST, I think maybe there was a little over 50 people on. I've played before with that amount of traffic and it didn't do that previously.gurtuk wrote:I've owned many servers in the past, including a few world of warcraft private servers. honestly it has a lot of the symptoms of a DDoS since i was online most of the times when the server went offline.

I'm stating as of today for the server being down. I'm well aware of the DDoS relations and am not denying that the server wasn't at all affected by such in recent time. As of today, I had stated my reasonings of the inability of players to play at the time.gurtuk wrote:I've owned many servers in the past, including a few world of warcraft private servers. honestly it has a lot of the symptoms of a DDoS since i was online most of the times when the server went offline.

We all know what is going on (haters be hating). Well, at least the ones that know how to use the Search function.
