Inactive Players + Character Names
Inactive Players + Character Names
I started playing here about a month ago, and the name I used on my main from live was taken. No big deal, I chose another one... Out of pure curiosity and boredom from the recent server instability, I just searched the armory to see who the person was using the name and turns out its a level 4, rank 1 Orc Choppa. This would appear to be an inactive player, since the name has been taken for over a month now and the character has only 1 hour of gameplay. Is there any chance of verifying this and getting rid of these inactive characters somehow so that these names can be used by players who are active?

I'll wait for an "official" response but this is an question that's been raised before and I believe currently no intention of recovering names taken. Bigger fish to fry so I can understand.

Mechanics over cosmetics, I agree. It's more a question of curiosity than anything. I just hate to see people create characters using iconic names and let them go to waste by playing for an hour and quitting. Would be nice if they had the decency to log back in one last time and at least delete their character.

Quoted from a post by Geni
"The general policy is that we do not restore individual or specific names. There are a number of reasons for this, but the biggest one is that people are generally unoriginal and not that creative. At any given time, there are at least 10 players fighting over the name "Legolas," and since this is Warhammer, about 50 who think they're being just so clever naming their slayer some variation of "Gotrek."

Thanks for the info. So I think it's also safe to assume there is no inactive account wipe system on this server? If say, an account is inactive for 6 months or a year the account is wiped / deleted?
Re: Inactive Players + Character Names
No such system in place.
Just be lucky to have that very special accountname

This very special account name is the very special character name I was hoping to be able to recover for my main!

Re: Inactive Players + Character Names
So the combination of Uruk-Hai and the first name Kai?
The IP for that goes to Kai T., a schoolmate of mine and member of my pen and paper roleplaying club,we called him that 1989-1993,although he was actually playing a slayer, not a orc. But he portraed the slayer much like an uruk-hai if it came to angremnangement and personal hygiene.
Saying that,if you finsihed school 1994 in Jever, drop me a PM.

Nah lol.. Since u can't use a - in character names, I figured I'd drop the h because it looked goofy, Thus Uruk-Hai becomes Urukai. My Orc warrior has the same name on WoW, Bleeding Hollow server. Also, my Orc Choppa on Warhammer: AoR, Badlands Server.
