Reinstalling the game

Noobish question here, I've followed the directions given regarding the installation process for RoR, but even after extracting the files to a new location and putting the RoR launcher there and trying to start the game, I keep getting the same error message starting with: 'system.UnauthorisedActionException'.

If anyone can tell me what mistakes I'm making, I would be very thankful.

Extracting the Directx files? If that is what you are speaking of, the directx files, once extracted will have a setup .exe in there somewhere. You need to run that to install the Directx Runtimes that you extracted.

Remove read only on the game folder.

Access was denied to the path or file WAR.exe!

Remove the write-protection (right click the game folder -> properties -> disable read-only) from all the files in the WAR folder and try again. You may also try running the launcher with Administrator privileges.

If you used the torrent to download the game, the torrent application may still be using the files. Either copy the entire WAR folder to a new location (if you wish to continue supporting the torrent), or move the entire WAR folder to another location to break access to the torrent.
