You are banning people for using emotes/the jump button.
If using those are this much disrespectful, they maybe shouldn't be ingame.
"This isn't life." Yes, ingame stuff like this is ingame. And not meant to be actually harmful to anyone in real life.
Yes ade, I never liked you or your guild. Even before you were gm, your "more than 3 is a zerg" stuff always annoyed me.
Was it personal? Nope, just didn't agree on your guys point of view on certain game mechanics.
That's why always I enjoyed killing you guys.
If I get killed by someone and he laughs at me, ofc I'm gonna get angry. But I'm just trying to get the kill back ingame. Not asking for him to be banned...
And welcome to mursie, bloodi etc.. Missed you.
Corpse jumping and emoting.

Re: Corpse jumping and emoting.
I can easily understand explicitly flaming people is grounds for warning/exile but EMOTING and CORPSE-JUMPING? This server is starting to turn into a hugbox. If actually mashing my spacebar and using emotes that are in the game for a reason to taunt another player is a bannable offense then I'm actually speechless.

Re: Corpse jumping and emoting.
Banning someone because you suspect something is entirely wrong in itself. It looks even worse if that suspicion is false, which it is. Jumping on a players corpse being redemption for an action a GM has taken is such a far stretch I can't believe that actually went through whatever process those things go through.
The rules are so strict, if they would be applied to everybody equally then this server would be empty.
bloodi, since you are missing some context: The whole group was banned for corpsejumping (+ other reasons that might have applied but that aren't listed publicly)

Just like you missed the part where your friend got banned for client crashing?tomato wrote:And welcome to mursie, bloodi etc.. Missed you.
Tell us another sob story about how unfair the world is.
Yeah thats why the ban appeal about it being about client crashing exist, because they got banned for that other reason.tomato wrote:bloodi, since you are missing some context: The whole group was banned for corpsejumping (+ other reasons that might have applied but that aren't listed publicly)

The context looks like it supports what the OP is saying, alsoOffence : Annoyance/harassment based on retribution against a GM, showing further disrespect after 1 day exile.
Punishment : 3 day ban.
Video and ss proof available
Additional information: Player had just finished a 1 day exile, I received a report and decided to follow the player in company with GM Azarael. Players showed cleared harassment based on a GM action, and decided that repeated emoting and excessive corpse jumping on players associated with me would be the best way to go about this. This was done several times and agreed with Azarael that it was a clear case of retribution. - I also ran this by the lead GM Magicthighs who also agreed with this case and punishments.
In any case after serving an initial ban over harassment and disrespect towards other players, he continued to do so and clearly does not seem to care for the rules or respect staff, the main one being - Don't be a D!ck, and don't attack players associated with a GM because you resent the punishment you were given.

It's more like this.blakokami wrote:Hopefully the Devs/GM's dont do to this game what Riot did to League of Legends. Taunting and banter is a big part of all games and shouldn't be punished. Don't punish ppl just so that you have something to do like when police have quota's to fill >.> Overall everyone needs to chill out and not get so mad.
Guy (Bretin) got arrested and jailed for a day over harassing people, with a selfie stick (twitch stream) pointing right at him too, genius really. It's not the first time he's been a prick in public and the cops are well aware of this. RoR community called us, and we checked the evidence then locked him up. We even let him lash out a bit at us without really adding any charges. The day passes and he's free to go. First thing on his agenda, knock a security guard (who he thinks is a cop, but isn't) then teabag (jumping) and call him a **** (/emotes). The same cop that arrested him the first time has a nice hearty /facepalm and starts writing down names, then they all get hauled off for round two in jail.
Looks like we didn't get enough names on that list, and to be perfectly honest the more people that want to up and leave over us doing our jobs, the less people we probably need to worry about later. So please, by all means, find the door if you so desire.

Re: Corpse jumping and emoting.
So as the most inflammatory of the staff members, let me jump in here to clear it up.
You will not, for any reason, harass or display BM to anyone in game as a response to an action that a member of staff has performed against you.
Banter and BM aren't being outlawed on this server, and I think those of you jumping in here to fly the flag of righteous indignation should know better than this. I'm not going to lie, I'm disappointed in some of you.
What's not being tolerated is the **** that goes on in a lot of other places, in which staff members get pressurized out of taking future actions against a given group of players because that staff action invites in game or personal consequences for that staff member. It's a disgusting pressure tactic and it's not going to happen on my watch. Period. If you get sanctioned by a particular GM, I expect you to think very hard before you engage in any kind of harassing behaviour against them or their immediate associates. If in doubt, clear it up with them first.
I have alluded before, when the whole "transparency" debate was going on, to my unwillingness to get personally involved with certain members of the community precisely because of my own vulnerability to personal consequences if I was the one to perform the action. This kind of pressure exists and it's a very real factor. I will not allow that.
EDIT: Looks like I posted through the lock. Oh well.
