Why is RR level growth constrained by your max rank?

Just going back and starting a T1 toon, i noticed this new change so now in where you cant progress past the rr lvl of the max level of your toon.

I dont remember it being like this on live.

Just wondering why it was done, T1 was a good place to get up in rr levels

It was like this long before latest live patches. Stimulated people to do some PVE. As far as I remember at the times when you needed to do PQ and ORVR to lock zones. But maybe I ate too much shrooms

Yea, that one caught my guildies like 4 times... hehe, they kept freakin out, "dude, the game bugged, I'm not gaining RR!"

hehehe.... Seeing as my main's are all capped, and my alt's where PLd, I care not.

Seeing as RR cap is the same as CR, the change makes sense.

was like this in pre 1.4.0 patch, they changed it to =max 2x your rank

actually if we could have a cap of 5-10 level more than your rank would help t3 ppl in future

I have a feeling this is a temporary measure from the devs to stop people hitting max renown way before they get to t4 and having less incentive to continue doing the new expected to be buggy t4 launch.

When they do a few more rr cap increases I would bet they will go back to x2 cr.

it's most likely because the T4 they are working off of was this way. On live it was this way for a long time, also BO and didn't give renown / exp only keeps, not zone locks etc.

If that was true, none of the gear vendors in AD/IC would exist, nor the purple drops. i.e Boundless.
