Potential Fix til Rams Work?

Is there anything that can be done to improve RvR til rams work?

I was told by a GM from what I can assume was internal testing that a full wb would take 10 mins to take down a door. We had over a full wb for at least 20 minutes on the undefended keep with no oil for 30 minutes and maybe took down 45% of the door. Sure we weren't max dps specs and what not but still... With no rams working, I believe oil should be disabled to give siegers are fighting chance.

I sat in a wb for 45 minutes trying to talk people off the ledge. Obviously being here when 300 players NA primetime was HUGE, I want as many players to stay as possible. Could something be done until they are working?

1. Cannons deal 10x damage to door? So instead of 2k, they could deal 20k? - They are unreal weak right now vs doors as they weren't inteded for them but since they work it could be a fix to get some people using them. Also I think they need about 10x the hp currently. I was told heals should work on them but the only heals that work are lifetaps with the cannon as your defensive target. Not sure if that is working as intended.

2. Oil deals 1/10 current damage or totally disabled until rams are fixed. As it stands the oil is incredibly difficult to take out (for normal WB's) and they just wait til 10-15 people get to wall, drop an oil and poof they all dead instantly. I get that it is meant to be an insane defense but with no counter (the ram) then... defenders are at a massive advantage.

I am fully aware that this is temporary but seeing how we have a small window to hold onto a lot of these returners I think something to keep them interested would be great for keeping this place as packed as it has been. But if we want to take the "we do not negotiate with terrorist" mentality like usual then I also understand that as well.

That incredibly loaded comment aside, if rams don't work, they'll be fixed. For anything else about RvR, there's my signature.

While we are at it, what is the idea behind them costing 15g.

If its about a gold sink, well, people who hoard gold dont tend to buy rams for the realm.

If they cost stupid money it's because nobody really looked at them. They don't have a price in our final system.

For what i gathered yesterday, it was a huge hinder in trying them, the first attempts at keep takes usually went something like:

-"Somebody buy a ram"

-"I just used it and dissapeared what the ****"

-"Try another"

-"Its 15g, try it yourself".

It reached to a point where they may be working but people just dont want to waste gold in trying them.

I didn't mean the terrorist comment in a bad way lol, it was meant with sarcasm. I apologize if it came off the wrong way!!!!!!

I just meant as a temp fix to get more people in the lakes. I assume adding a few 0's to the damage is quicker than the internal issue of them not working on the keep doors.

...I'm not looking for you to kiss my ass or walk on eggshells. I've seen some people doing it lately for comic effect and it's pretty nauseating. Just let's talk about issues with seriousness and bearing fully in mind any existing staff comments, such as the current RvR state being temporary and about development priorities at the moment. That is all.

Would it be possible to disable buying the rams, until they are fixed? So as soon they'll work, they may appear again and ppl know, they are working as intended by then.

Why do we need fixes until something else works?

Why not just spend the time making the thing work that would preclude the need of the fix?

Be patient. T4 is open, there are ALOT of things to do, gear to grind, mobs to farm, etc etc. Get all your alts to 40, get all your epic jewelry and weapons, Ruin, Merc gear is obtainable w/o any keeps or ORvR. Officer medallions drop at a much higher rate from players now, so get to ganking!

Just cause people can't zerg rush keeps and get 10 zone locks a day you have to "talk people off the edge"? Wtf? Is attacking empty keeps that big of a deal?

And as to your opening Scenario that you discribed(op), you mean a PUGish WB w/o much communication or spacial awareness can't take a T4 keep by themselves? I say good. It should take serious effort and coordination to take a T4 keep. You have 15 people blindly attacking the keep door, not even noticing that defenders are setting up oil? You deserve to wipe. Regardless of rams or keep door health or oil damage. The door health and oil damage is based on things that aren't working properly atm. Changing them only to change them back is asinine on such a small development team.

Think back to Live. fresh 40/40, How did you do against Oil? I remember it 1-shotting me. I remember that an entire WB would sit in support of a few players on a ram, while the rest of the zone fought to keep the BOs. Yea, we had zergs. But the zerg's followed the "good" alliance WB that was doing most of the work.

TLDR: the Rams, the Oil, Keep Doors, Abilities, Server DCs, wipes, etc etc. It's an Alpha. Deal with it.
