So, Idk how to explain this so here I go.
Whenever I take my files and check the read only box to off, the bar jumps up and fills. Says they have been changed. But when I click okay and check properties, they are set back at read only again. Like, what?
I was playing before this happened, I was ripped away mid fight. I guess that's alpha.
I also noticed that when I was encountering this problem, the population went from 1020 to like 400.
That and my character has disappeared. Poof. When I attempted to log in again. Before, well not being able to get in. So it's possible I can't see the server or something. And my character is fine. idk.

Re: Read-only files will not stay off
I fixed it. Just had to adjust a couple security settings. My bad. The new windows 10 update, reset some settings so I had to make it nice an good again. See ya in-game, character is still there.
Sorry, I'll be more diligent and try to solve it myself before I come post in Technical.
I dread windows 10 updates.

Also, for the future something to bear in mind if you didn't already is that being an admin on windoze is not always enough.
You also need to start up explorer in "run as admin" mode sometimes to make file permissions in certain areas "stick". If something doesn't work, it's normally authorisation permissions in Windoze clunky system that is at fault. It doesn't work as well as the Linux sudo way of doing things.

What security option did you change because this is my problem right now?
