Solution: Does not compute, put guard on yourself and jump off a cliff

please be reminded, my post was before his ;) So if anything Bretin decided to follow me not vice versa!
His post is second, questioning why you would not hit tanks thus heavily implying it is wrong

when you said this:
bretin wrote:i basically asked that one question just to check your knowledge and yet you disappointed me. the main objectiv of a tank is not to redirect damage.

you forfeited the ability for anyone to over-estimate your intelligence. It became demonstrably clear that the bar for your intelligence was extremely low.

I would take the advice and opinions of someone who has worked with a group for several years, tried out every combination possible, and makes it a habit to engage in competitive pvp on a daily basis, over someone who doesn't offer anything constructive and resorts to strawman arguments/personal attacks.

Without good control a tank is nothing he can't do any of his other jobs. I'm sorry papakami but you are wrong.
Khorlar, Thorvold, Sjohgar, Anareth, Toldavf, Hartwin, Gotrin and others -_-

Trick question. There should be a dedicated tank guarding both the squid and the herder, therefore the question is moot. Redundancy is key.
Order: Werk, or Wirk, or Werke, or Wirkette
Destro: Werk, or Wirk, or Werke, or Werkette

you get the idea...Werk.

If you believe the #1 objective of a tank is not to redirect damage then play a 6v6 with your tank not guarding.

This is literally the most fundamental, the most powerful, the most important objective the tank brings.

This entire thread has been a strawman brought for against the OP. He was asked a simple question - why not attack tanks.

He gave a simple answer
theseus wrote:Well, for the simple Reason, that tanks are quite sturdy, but mostly dont do real damage on their own. Their main objectiv is, to redirect damage from the DD and healers to themselves. So if you attack them before you take care of the others, you play right in their hands.
from that he was straw-manned into an impression of refuting is point, while actually refuting an argument that was not advanced by him at all. At no point did he bring forth that the only objective is to guard. At no point was he discounting all of the things a tank does. He merely pointed out why not to attack tanks. His simple answer was correct. And the main objective he outlined is in-fact the correct main objective.

Anyone who believes that guard is not the single most important aspect of the tank, not the only aspect, just the MAIN one.. is completely ignorant.

SnB kobs slotting armor:

Rules like "dont attack the tank first" dont apply 100% of the time.
When you are fighting a single tank composition taking out the tank first is an option you should consider.
